Practically Christian Podcast is part of Mission Media. Here at PCP we are looking to have a conversation with those who have been dechurched, hurt by the church, walked away from the church, decided the church isn't for them, deconstructed from the church, well you get the picture. Both Debbie and Josh lived that life of just going through motions, and it left us both feeling empty and hurt. We set out on a journey to figure out why if the church is so amazing, it left us both feeling so empty. Too many times we identify as something, in name alone. Jesus doesn't call us to identify simply as Christians, He calls us to lay our lives down and follow Him. Here at PCP we take all that information you got all up in your brain, and we give you real practical applications to live a life on mission. It may sound counter productive, but if we want to fill up, we have to pour out. So if you want to be challenged, if you want to hear the other side of the story, if you want real, everyday practical ways to live out your faith, you have come to the right place!
Project Blue Book, Starlink Spectacles, and the Hunt for 'Redneck' Aliens
Ready to question everything you thought you knew about extraterrestrial life? You've landed in the right galaxy! We dive into the unresolved mysteries of Project Blue Book, with its 12,000 documented UFO sightings, and challenge theories surrounding ancient architectural wonders. Could aliens have contributed to the construction of pyramids and Stonehenge? Or are these just human marvels? As we sat under the night sky, an unexpected spectacle of lights had us questioning if we were witnessing an alien invasion. The culprits? The Starlink satellites! This sparked an intriguing discussion around our personal beliefs in extraterrestrial life, and how some UFO sightings could be explained by natural phenomena. We also ponder why aliens are always depicted as superior beings, humorously wondering where the 'redneck' aliens are hiding. Join us on this cosmic journey, we promise not only a sizzling debate but also a hearty chuckle. So, are you ready to have your space-time continuum warped?https://www.missionsent.org/

From Ghosts to Gospel: A New Take on Halloween
Ever wondered how Halloween, a holiday filled with costumes, candy, and fun, could actually be deeply rooted in Christian tradition? And what if Halloween, contrary to common thought, wasn't a day dedicated to the devil but instead an opportunity to spread the redemptive message of Jesus? In our lively and thought-provoking discussion, we unearth the origins of Halloween tracing it back to the Celts and their rituals of honoring the dead, evolving over the years into the familiar costume-filled day we know today. We go beyond the surface, exploring how the Church incorporated this holiday into its calendar, using superstitions and ghost stories not for mere spine-tingling entertainment but as powerful tools to deter malevolent spirits and protect our ancestors. But we don't stop there. We challenge common notions and explore the idea of using Halloween as a podium to preach the gospel, spreading love and goodwill through candy and invitations to church. We urge Christians not to cede power to the devil, and instead bless others generously on this day. In the end, we invite you to rethink how you can use Halloween to share the redemptive plan of Jesus, envisioning it not as a day of darkness, but a powerful opportunity to build relationships within our communities and reach out to those who are lost. Join us as we reimagine Halloween, turning it into an occasion to celebrate and spread the love of Jesus.https://www.missionsent.org/

Unmasking the Identity Crisis in a Digital Age
Ever wondered how societal trends and the need for acceptance can cause an identity crisis? This week, we're shedding light on this intriguing topic. Drawing from a Harvard study, we establish the critical role our circles of influence play in our success. And guess what, we do it with a lot of humor and some banters about parrots, turkeys, and fish! We also ponder how Hank Williams Jr. would sound with auto-tune, and how social media forms a powerful tool to promote unique ideas and passions. However, every coin has two sides. In our candid conversation, we dissect how social media may also contribute to the loss of individual identity, and how desiring acceptance can hurt, especially amongst young people. We share real-life cases of folks battered by the impacts of social media, and discuss the importance of recognizing one's unique abilities rather than falling into the trap of detrimental comparisons. We also caution against careless sharing on social media and its potential implications. Finally, we venture into our own perspectives about popular influences and the importance of finding your unique voice. Drawing inspiration from Jesus's example of countering establishment norms, we question if his teachings would be popular with today's platforms and churches. As we wrap up, we emphasize the need to understand the issues we are unifying over and encourage you to embrace your differences and be authentic. We challenge you to break free from echoing others and express yourself in ways that resonate with your true identity. So, tune in, and let's start this journey of finding your original voice together!https://www.missionsent.org/
