I want to go on record as saying Felix Trench is the next Hugh Laurie. I loved Wooden Overcoats, then he wrote some Amelia Project and appeared in at least two, and I thought “oh dang, the kid’s got a Brain!” Now it turns out he knows his Shakespeare, which I’ve loved since I was 15. Hearing people happily high-level geeking about the plays is amazing. And Beth Eyre is another expert—it is amazing the difference it makes to hear the lines spoken well by people who understand them. I’m new to Emma and Calder, I admit. But the level of care and the depth of inquiry is incredibly useful and helpful. If this had been around when I was in school/college, it would’ve been amazing! I hope this gets used in schools. I think it will help kids get hooked. This is just one happy love-letter to Shakespeare and I feel so lucky to have found it!
