Freiburg made a flying start to the season, going undefeated in their opening nine games and registering eight wins, but the wheels have threatened to come off in recent days following defeats to Leverkusen in the Bundesliga and Monaco in the Conference League. That makes Sunday’s visit of league leaders Bayern Munich all the more inconvenient, with the Bavarians unbeaten in 11 matches across all competitions.Vincent Kompany’s side are not impenetrable though, drawing three of their last four and conceding goals at regular intervals. They will also be rocked by the absence of Kompany, who unexpectedly collapsed at the training ground this afternoon.
