How much money do you need to spend on equipment to start your podcast? $50? $100? $1,000?

The truth is, there is no exact number. But, if you really wanted to start a podcast this very second, you could do so for $0 with nothing but your smartphone. There's no rule that says you have to spend any money on equipment before you can bring a podcast to life. Yet many aspiring podcasters believe they need top-of-the-line equipment so they sound pristine and flawless before they release their first episode.

On Episode 132 of Pod Theory, Travis Brown and I will shed some light on this misconception and let you know that you don't need to break the bank to get the equipment you need to launch or improve your podcast. We'll also share some important points about other aspects of podcasting that far outweigh the amount of money you invest into your microphones, headphones, and mixing board.
