A ray of hope and rationality in a profit driven medicine
As yet another burned out physician with nothing other than thinly-veiled pharma-driven biased research to inform practice, I lose more and more hope every day for our field and our collective professional future and ability to truly help people as we all initially intended- in their best interest. Thank you for being a brave and eloquent voice in analyzing and calling out specific examples of the corruption they has so insidiously infiltrated our field. Awareness leads to knowledge, and knowledge leads to the power to change things to be more in line with the ethics most of us hold.

Keep Up The Good Work
As a civilian working in Death Care, I’m grateful for this podcast. An important aspect of the scientific method is to poke holes in all hypotheses in order to strengthen the robustness of a conclusion. Thank you

The return of reason
Love this show for the rational, intelligent discussion of issues involving medicine. My background is in math, not medicine, so some parts can go over my head, but not too badly. I just can’t say enough about how much we need to talk about what the evidence is actually telling us, and that is exactly what this podcast does.

Wow
Disappointed in the ACCP decision. Thanks for the enlightening discussion, as usual.

Thank you
I joined community oncology right out of fellowship and very much appreciate the critical review of our field and recognition of pharma impact on clinical trial data. The academic world is often too celebratory and needs to be as critical as VP. I’m glad I found Malignant during fellowship to improve my critical review and have this ongoing podcast to help me sift through literature and decide how I can help my patients live longer and live better.

Prasad Clone Needed
Maybe if we had a Vinay Prasad clone telling the truth about nutritional epidemiology, this nation wouldn’t be experiencing many of the health issues and diseases that plague the population.

Great podcast
As an anesthesia resident, very little of the discussions topics, especially regarding cancer are clinically relevant to me. That being said, this podcast is a joy to listen to. The thoughtful discussion of EBM is applicable to all practitioners of medicine, and the practice of critical thinking applied in this podcast is one that all individuals in medicine or not, would benefit from listening ti

Great podcast
I love listening to this podcast because it’s evidence based discussion. Even if you disagree, likely you’ll know exactly WHERE you disagree and forces you to THINK! Much needed these days!

Give it a try!
I’m a pharmacist not practicing heme/onc but I still get so much out of the show! It’s worth a listen for anyone I’m healthcare!

Highly recommend!
I work in geriatric rehab at the SNF setting. Obviously, these are trying times to care for our elderly and most vulnerable population. The mandates of CMC have been overwhelming as are the staffing mandates for Covid booster for infinity. I appreciate the opportunity to hear physician-led rousing debates over healthcare policy, deconstruction of research and relevant information. And while some of it may be *just a bit beyond my pay grade, so much of your podcast content remain absolutely relevant to my work as a health care provider. It’s been super helpful for me. I am also a huge fan of the VPZD show as well. Thanks for the great work, folks! Keep it up.
And, keep those oversimplified explanations on complex issues coming for those of us that need the (unofficial) CEU’s!

Best place to learn onc
Dr Prasad taught me an incredible amount of oncology, interrupting and critiquing clinical trials, and global health policies. I highly recommend this podcast to every medical professional: doctors, pharmacists, nurses, PAs, and patients as well!

He thinks for himself!
Love this podcast, I am grateful for someone who thinks for himself and can share his work with others.
We need more of this in healthcare, The Science, and the public square.
Keep up the great work!

Praise for Facts and Logic
I can’t praise Vinay enough for his focus on facts. Many times over the past few years I have found myself so thankful the logical discourse that he brings based on facts. Thank you for speaking up!

The Best Research Analysis in Medicine
I am an IM resident interested in oncology. I’ve been listening to this podcast for a few years now, and it is the best medical podcast I have ever heard. I have learned more about EBM and the critical evaluation of research by listening here, than from all the lectures I received in Med school and subsequently. This is partly a reflection of the paucity of hard-hitting instruction in traditional curricula on how to be a research critic, and largely a credit to VP and his iconoclastic obsession with pursuing good science. We need more strident research critics in his mold, and fewer industry-enamored cheerleaders. His destruction of the flawed parachute analogy and insistence that most of biomedicine is of marginal to moderate effect size, if any, has changed my perspective for all time. This podcast is sobering, incisive, and inspirational. Every doctor and provider should listen, and future FDA officials and other government officials should be required to undergo tutelage with VP prior to filing their posts. The world needs more of this sharp thinking.

Critical thinking on medical research and policy
Fantastic content! It’s sometimes technical but always makes sense to the layman. VP is becoming a national treasure for critical thinking on medical research and policy issues. Amazing that this is available to me through these informative podcasts

Passionate & intelligent analysis
Dr. Prasad is a unique voice in the area of evidence-based medicine and is completely willing to be the top of the spear both in terms of supporting smart medical studies as well as directly challenging prevailing narratives. He draws upon his skills sets to the extent that he can. He is funny, including edible smart, playful and totally willing to go out on a limb in ways most public health experts are simply unwilling to.

Excellent!
As a hematologist-medical oncologist working in a high volume setting with relatively limited recourses I cannot overstate the impact of the critical views expressed in Plenary Session on the choices I have to make in daily practice. Overwhelmed by the enormous barrage of new drugs and breakthrough medicines and underwhelmed by the mostly poor quality of evidence and limited or absent benefit for patients, it helps to know what experts on quality of evidence and policy think and that they share their critical insights on these issues. This is a podcast that should be followed by all aspiring and young physicians as early as possible in their career order to increase their awareness of the landscape we have to work in and the issues behind the lackluster evidence on which many (if not most) of the currently Pharma pushed ’breakthroughs’ are based.

Fascinating look into medical/pharma issues
Dr Prasad is a voice of reason in these stupid times. I enjoy the Covid talk but also his breakdown of big pharma motives and MOs around drug creation and approval. I am a non medical professional but a lot of his statistical talk makes me consider how I approach my own industry and the claims vs reality we put out to the public. Great listen!

Prassad has become derranged
After being absolutely wrong at every turn throughout the pandemic and having been repeatedly called out by his peers and humiliated as a charlatan Prassad now spends his days attacking straw men.

A must listen for heme/onc fellows
What a great podcast, and I hate podcasts! Bringing complex topics to approachable conversations without the Big Pharma bias. Have been sharing with all my co-fellows and pharmacy friends. Keep ‘em coming.

These two are so smart I love the discussion about how do we know we are not crazy. I have felt that way too.

A Source of Objective Information
Dr. VP has quickly become one of the few voices I trust in the Healthcare research community. He is truly an objective yet highly informed voice that seeks to find the truth in topics that our biased media (both progressive and conservative) seem to be unwilling to discuss. Accordingly, the guests on his podcast demonstrate a similar orientation toward objectivity. Regardless of whether you agree with him on all of his views if you have interest in gaining a better understanding of COVID, Healthcare research or policy development this podcast should be in your rotation.

Great podcast for residents who want a deep dive in oncology
As a surgery resident interested in surgical oncology, this podcast is a great resource. It breaks down “game changing” trials and pulls back the curtain on the limitations of these studies. This podcast also gives direction to what we should be striving for in oncology, how we can and should give patients care that improves quality of life and/or overall survival.

I’m saddened.
Though the information here is very good, using Gods Name disrespectfully. We need Gods Blessings - Not His Wrath!

Informative thoughtful opinions
As a physician, I’m finding it increasingly challenging to determine truth vs misinformation/misguided opinions with so much conflicting data the last few years. Thank you for sharing your honest thoughtful opinions and teaching us how to critically look at studies and data rather than taking them at face value. Also appreciate the humor as a welcome addition to the usual dry delivery of medical information.

Love it
As a lab geneticist with a long commute to work, I always look forward to listening to Vinay’s podcast. He is honest, grounded and isn’t afraid to say the truth. Sometimes his opinions go against mainstream thinking and I have learned a lot of medical information from Plenary Session.
