Charlie Marshall is a singer songwriter from Melbourne and is an important part of the scene since the 1980s. He’s been the guitar-slinging backbone for some of Melbourne’s finest bands from the legendary punk blues of Harem Scarem to the soulful intensity of The Body Electric whose stellar lineup included members of Dirty Three, Beasts Of Bourbon and the Avalanches. As a performer and songwriter he stands in comparison with better known Australian exports like Nick Cave, Ed Kuepper, Robert Forster, and Kim Salmon.Charlie’s music is born from passion, and instinct drawing inspiration from a range of genres - soul, blues, folk, punk, indie and jazz - creating a style that's unique and authentic. His songs are poetic, romantic meditations on life, love, politics, philosophy and the universe and they come from the heart. In live performance, he melds voice, guitar and backing loops into a dynamic force ranging from gentle, intimate moments to raging, beguiling intensity.Tune in for "And This One's Introduced By..." presented by Dr Gonzo in conversation with Charlie Marshal who'll introduce a selection of songs from a few of his albums. Dave Graney really doesn't need explaining, most indie music fans would know a little about his illustrious history as a musician playing and recording with his partner Clare Moore. Beginning with The Sputniks and the Moodists in the early 1980's, and the Coral Snakes and White Buffaloes in the 1980's and 90's, In later years his groups have included The Dave Graney Show, The Lurid Yellow Mist and the mistLY.Dave and Clare spend much of their time ensconced in their country enclave Ponderosa Studio experimenting and plotting and for the musically curious there are a plethora of recorded musical diversions available to explore. Dave Graney sets his poems to languid jazzy sounds that perhaps require a stoned and active perception to truly appreciate his music. Dave and Clare's eagerly awaited new set of songs, Everything Was Funny reflects their musical evolution and cultural obsessions.Dave Graney is Dr Gonzo's host on this weeks' edition of And This One's Introduced By... introducing the songs from Everything Was Funny. Please support the artist and check out many of Dave Graney and Clare Moore's releases HERE

Dane Blacklock and the Preachers Daughter are an abomination, and their mothers are very upset with them. Hewn from the rusty womb of a Melbourne gutter sometime around 2008, they have delighted and disgusted audiences with their depraved skalwaggery ever since.Their first album, 'The Lonesome March of Wilson Tumbleweed', is a doom-folk, grime blues, epic incestuous tragedy, telling the tale of Wilson and Ophelia, star-crossed sibling lovers, riding harrowing waves of murder, drug abuse, sex and pain to their inevitable doom. The Preachers Daughters' current project is a Satanic Gospel Cabaret Rock Opera, a broadway-style musical, satanic sermon / black mass, with a big band, choir, full costume, theatrical performance with 13 songs, to be released as an album later in the year. The genre is a doom folk, grime blues version of gospel, kind of like Tom Waits meets James Brown. The message is to follow one’s bliss, to cast off shame and guilt and to enjoy life for all of its bounty, accept the chaos of existence and to embrace desire. The band preaches a message of pro feminism, pro sex and sexuality of any kind, pro gender diversity, pro diversity and diversity of thought, freedom of expression and lifestyle and the consumption and doing of anything at all so long as it does not harm your fellow person. Please support the artist and find out more HERE

Memories is the debut album by Melbourne Female Mariachi Band Queen Of Hearts who are made up of three primary composers: Stefania Serna, Elizabeth Obando and Bonnie Smith.Stefania and Elizabeth are Colombian born and have been brought up on Mariachi music since they were born. Bonnie is Australian-born, she has traveled far and wide and has spent a huge part of her life in Latin America, including Mexico where she learned to speak Spanish. She played many concerts in Mexico and has traveled from Jalisco to Veracruz to Chiapas to Morelia soaking up the music and culture. These ladies met in Melbourne and their one thing in common is their passion for Mariachi music. Not only does Mariachi music give them a platform in which to compose; but it gives them a platform in which they can express their deepest feelings, sufferings, and desires. They come alive with this music and well....their passion for a little bit of drama is also an incentive to sing with corazon! which is Spanish for heart.Melbourne is a melting pot of culture. It's a city of foreigners, it's a city full of colour, full of music, full of new ideas and innovation. Melbourne is a place where tradition is redefined. This open land opens the mind, for new insights and new perspectives in what can be a rigid world. "Queen of Hearts" evoke an ultimately new perspective on what Mariachi Music can be: All women. All original. Violins, Big Bass, Trumpets, Flowers, Hats, and pants. And some kick-arse harmonies that will leave you breathless. These ladies with their passion, creative minds, and musical compositions have created the unique "Queen of Hearts" a daring new Mariachi-inspired band, that celebrates vocal prowess and incredible musical arrangements. They pave a new way for us to see tradition - all in the context of celebration!!Please support the artists and Checkout the Queen Of Hearts Mariachi HERE
