Based on my recent post MERCY RULE, I feel compelled to tell more of the story. After my son and his team won their first soccer tournament, he received his first medal. He was/is so proud! Afterwards he asked me: “Why does it say participant on the back of my medal, and not winner”? I sat him down and gladly explained it to him. His response was priceless because even at his young age he seems to understand that you only should get a medal if you win, not if you simply show up (participate)! Join the conversation! I love to do weddings, matter of fact it is one of my favorite things to do as a minister. I usually like to prepare for a ceremony, but there are times when you can throw all your plans and good intentions into the wind (and quite honestly it happens more than I wish), like my last wedding, which I did not even know I was doing until Cori told me to suit up and come over to the barn… I had to jump in and substitute for another officiant and yes, I even preached his sermon. Yesterday we had to put our cat Tink to sleep due to a sickness. I meant to post this video weeks ago but now it seems to be the right time, to remember her. My oldest daughter picked Tink (or she picked my daughter) at a shelter. We don’t know the backstory but we could only guess what she went through before we adopted her. Cori pointed out how proud this kitty was when we put a bell on her (Tinkerbell, get it?😉), because she now belonged to someone. We buried her right by the tree-stump in front our house, where she used to sit and “guard” our house, looking for prey. We will miss hearing her bell… Join the conversation!
