Excellent presentation
Just came across this podcast. Only listened to parts of one. Very impressive. Will attempt to listen to the full series. Thank you and best wishes

Hoping for more!
This podcast is as informative as it is unique. Here you’ll find information for you to think about, instead of someone’s thoughts on information. His voice is easy to listen to and simple to tune out when you get lost in thought. I just wish there where more episodes covering other ancient thinkers.

It’s good, but it could be better.
It’s great to have such a podcast out there, but it sounds like he’s reading from a paper, and he reads it too fast, with very little emphasis where such would be needed. Other than that, it’s pretty good.

Great podcast!
Love your podcast, I’m learning so much! Just one small issue, the narration speed is too fast. I have the audio speed set to 1x, and it’s still too fast. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

The best of the philosophy podcasts!!
Tired of Stephen West’s concerning antics and the insufferable personalities of everyone from the Partially Examined Life? Listen to this podcast instead! As a member of the 18-29 y/o male demo, I recommend that Audible and Casper mattresses sponsor this podcast.

Philosophy by the book
Genuinely worth the listen...the author does a good job of expanding on faceted - historical and current - ways of looking at philosophy. Thanks!

Great find!
Connor is both knowledgable and enjoyable. His clever intuition on philosophy has uncovered my own interest in a field foreign to. He’s easy to listen to and breaks down complex ideas to be comprehendible by the new philosopher.

Best podcast!
Ancient european civilizations inspired some of the greatest thinkers of all time; these men contemplated the foundations of civilization, love, and our role in society. All of these topics (and more) are discussed in Philosophy By The Book. This hidden gem provides impeccable insight on the greater interpretations of the content within ancient texts. As a student, I have a simple background in mythology from my grade school years. However, I still found this podcast particularly fascinating. This podcast will appeal to young adults who are interested in broadening their knowledge of ancient theory.

Incredible
I'm new to the podcast, but I started with the most recent episode 19 which discussed Plato's Symposium and the nature and foundations of true love. As a beginner to philosophy, I was initially put off by the long and complicated character names in the story, but the narrator's clear and concise dialogue helped me to understand the tail and the meaning of love it presents. This podcast is beautifully concise and brilliant crafted. I would recommend it for anyone interested in Philosophy or love and scholars of all levels and tastes.

Survival of the Fittest
I have listened to philosophy podcasts in the past, but none as well articulated as this. Not only does this elaborate on ideas unmentioned in other micropodcasts, but it elaborates on them in such a way that could put the un-intellectual scum to sleep (permanently) . In this way, the podcast furthers natural selection, which is undoubtedly beneficial to the future of the human race. 100/100

Awesome Podcast!
Philosophy by the Book is without a doubt the most concise yet intellectually stimulating review of philosophical texts and arguments I've stumbled upon. Mr. Clerkin entices the listener by compiling a comprehensive review of Plato's classic writings. New to the scene, but certainly well versed, this podcast should not be missed by lovers of intellect and philosophy alike. As Plato said, "Wise men speak because they have something to say; fools because they have to say something". Mr. Clerkin, and Philosophy by the Book are wise men.

Clerkin does an excellent job of taking an unbelievably dense and far-reaching subject and breaking it down into understandable, interesting podcast! I was thrilled when I discovered this detailed but concise discussion of philosophy. This podcast could be enjoyed by anyone- From college students and scholars deeply invested in the field to those simply wanting to learn more about the topic. I truly hope that this podcast gains attention within the philosophic community. It is interesting while still being informative. 10/10 Recommend

Well Done Mr. Clerkin
Having studied and analyzed philosophical texts in my past - I was initially averse to listening to this podcast. However, five minutes in I was hooked. Mr. Clerkin's dynamic use of language, and non-traditional approach to discussing certain philosophical ideals was a joy to listen to. I have gone back and listened to excerpts from each podcast, and all I can say is that I can't wait for the next one. Keep up the good work Mr. Clerkin! Well done!

Valuable
Philosophy By The Book had a really profound impact on the way I view the world. As many fellow entrepreneurs struggle to find time to think through a lens of reflection and introspection, Philosophy By The Book provides a vital and necessary dose of ideological analysis. I highly recommend PBTB to anyone out there who may not consider themselves necessarily 'deep,' but wants to make a concerted effort to think about the world around him or herself.

Opened My Eyes
As an engineering student, I had little exposure to philosophy as I had no incentive to do so. I thought the literature was redundant, hypocritical, and overall unenjoyable. However, after constant recommendation from my friends, I decided to try and listen to “Philosophy by the Book”, and i was instantly hooked. Using clear and succinct points to highlight his argument, this podcast has changed my outlook on philosophy, my personal life, and my thought process. Clerking has found a subscriber for life!

A True Treat
Forget audiobooks, the way to feeding your daily appetite is to pop in your headphones and give Philosophy By The Book a listen. A brave venture into several different philosophical texts, heavily focused on the works of Plato, Connor Clerkin dissects areas of Plato which might have entire scholastic field dedicated to them in a succinct and enjoyable package. His segment on the nature of piety highlights the true difficulties with understanding Plato as in any conversation, it is hard to tell which side Plato takes. The true delight in this podcast is discovering just how multi layered every sentence in these texts are. As Plato himself said, "We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light." I highly recommend everyone to step into the light and explore what Philosophy By The Book has to offer.

The Philosophy Review - Marc
AMAZING
Philosophy By The Book is gripping. I really appreciate the fresh perspective provided and the stimulating topics that are discussed. For instance, I really enjoyed the discussion of love being "one of the greatest gods" and that the only people willing to die for each other are lovers. Conversations like this (and trust me, there are many!) truly inspire me to think deeper about the relationships in my own life. I would undoubtedly recommend this to both of my friends, definitely beats out the other podcasts I've listened to 10/10

A great listen
I have never really taken the time to listen and connect with a philosophy podcast. That changed today. Philosophy By The Book introduced me to a field of study that has gauged my interest extensively. Mr. Clerkin does an incredible job of analyzing and thus questioning ancient texts and the imprint they have left behind. Never before would I envision myself saying this, but the idea of a philosophy minor does not seem so far fetched now! This podcast is truly for anyone willing to open their mind and think for an hour.

The Best
As someone who has searched far and wide in the podcast scene for a podcaster who eloquently explains the most seminal accomplishments of philosophy in history. For anyone who has wanted to explore philosophy but hasn't been able to find the avenue down which to initially explore it, this is the podcast for you. In addition, for those who want to expand their knowledge of ancient philosophy through an enlightening and engaging listening experience, Philosophy by the Book is the best way to do so. HIGHLY recommended.

Inspirational
Socrates once said, "True wisdom comes to each of us when we realize how little we understand about life, ourselves, and the world around us." And boy, Socrates was right. Clerkin challenges traditional knowledge and opens your eyes to the true meaning of life and self-awareness. Clerkin's podcasts not only made me wiser. Nay. They made me a better all around human being. Bravo!

A Spirit of Philosophy, A Spirit of Mutual Moral Understanding and Philosophy
Adroit. Didactic. Effulgent. Inquisitive. Philosophical. All of these are words I would use to describe Philosophy By The Book. There were a plethora of other ways I could describe it, but I feel as though these five accurately display the ideals that Philosophy By The Book seeks to instill in its followers. As a new listener, I decided that it would be smart to start at the source: his first real episode, entitled "Plato's Euthyphro." Mr. Clerkin, the founder and narrator of Philosophy By The Book, clearly demonstrates the method in which he connects to his readers. Through repetition and a highly superior vocabulary, Mr. Clerkin is able to inculcate the ideals of his podcast among his followers. To continually foster and maintain these ideals, he uses word variety on the words "pious" and "justice", using such phrases as piety, piousness, just, injust, justice, and injustice repeatedly to maintain a spirit of piety, a spirit of justice throughout the podcast. In addition, Mr. Clerkin clearly demonstrates his knowledge of age old philosophy, quoting Socrates, Apollo, Plato, and Euthyphro. As I listened to his podcast, I felt as though I was both listening to a nobel laureate philosopher while also experiencing the comfort I felt as my mother read me bedtime stories as a young child. It was an incredible and mind numbing journey I was taking on. I completely lost control of all mind and body. After listening to this first episode, I highly suggest that any and all people who read this post follow suit. Your life will be changed for the better. They say the greatest things in life are free. They have never been more correct.

Mr.
When I sit down on a bus, take out my phone and plug my headphones in, I tend to listen to whatever music I have downloaded. I never once thought a worthwhile way to spend a two-hour bus ride would be to listen to an informative podcast. After listening to Connor Clerkin’s Philosophy by the Book, however, I will no longer open up the iTunes app on my phone and select one of my myriad playlists to listen to. Instead, I will open up the podcasts app and let Clerkin’s brilliant oratory enlighten me on topics I previously knew nothing about. Clerkin has a way of turning convoluted topics into ones that are interesting and easy to understand. In his 19th episode, he covers Plato’s Symposium, providing a summary of the text and various dialogues that take place within it, as well explaining the meaning of these dialogues. Moving forward, if Clerkin continues to present his work with the same quality, as I’m sure he will, I have no doubt his podcast will becomes one of the most popular podcasts on iTunes.

Must Listen!
This unknown podcaster has hit a corner of the podcast market that has been heretofore untapped. I hope this podcast gains traction among the podcast-listening community. His logic is presented so, well, logically that it really makes listening easy. This podcast has elicited in me a burning interest in philosophy that I never knew I had, and for that I am forever grateful.
