So glad I stumbled upon this podcast! I’ve been fascinated by sound & music for a long time, but have basically no official education in those areas. Listening to Phantom Power feels a little like sneaking in to the sound studies class I never got to take.

As a scholar of sound and an experimental musician you would be hard-pressed to find a show more perfectly tailored to my interests. That said, I can’t think of a podcast that both satisfies my desires for aesthetic aural pleasure and serves my intellectual pursuits quite like Phantom Power. A brilliant show.

Blending some of the more creative aspects of radio with scholarship, this podcast always has a unique voice and each episode is its own world. Love it.

Beautifully and thoughtfully produced, a delight to listen to with headphones in—clearly the producers and makers are aware of the way they can bend sound to make us feel.
