31. Jacob, the son of Isaac, engages with an unknown person. Jacob realizes this stranger has power and can give Jacob a blessing if he wrestles it out of him. Jacob doesn't even know who he is fighting at first! All he knows is this unknown person has the power to bless. They wrestle throughout the night and eventually Jacob realizes he is wrestling with God. God blesses him, but it's a weird blessing. God does not give Jacob wealth or glory or earthly power, far from it! God gives Jacob a new name; Israel. His new name means, “the one who strives with God."What does it mean to "wrestle with God" and how can that bring about a blessing?
