This week I had the pleasure of chatting with Emily Minion, the founder of Chelsea King. Which if you don’t already know, is a Canadian hair accessory brand that has mastered the scrunchie. I’ve been wearing them daily and I’ll never go back to a normal hair elastic again.
What started out as a hobby making pieces for her daughter, has turned into a growing empire. Chelsea King scrunchies have been seen on women all over North America, including Jillian Harris & Alessandra Ambrosio - and even graced the pages of People Magazine.
Chealsea King is proof that you don’t need to reinvent the wheel when it comes to launching a brand. As my friend Riley would say, you can do things that have been done before, because you will bring your own magic.
So tie your hair back in that scrunchie and grab a seat in the sun - so happy to have you here for another episode.

For over a decade Chelsea was the co-owner of a very successful group of fashion boutiques, but after recent changes in the economy and how people shop, plus some not so great business decisions, she found herself at a crossroad. One that has allowed her to reevaluate what’s important, celebrate the success she did have & think about a fresh start towards an exciting future!

For my first episode I had to connect with my friend Riley Lawson, as she and I have been navigating this world of entrepreneurship for the better part of a decade. We’ve both had so many twists and turns in our journeys to where we are today and are going to chat about how ultimately you always end up where you’re supposed to, if you simply follow your passions.
Quotes:
"Where people get caught up, is not really believing in themselves on that deep level - their gifts and what they have to offer. And I think that the prescription for that is the personal work.“
"Most of the time the things that you’re struggling with looks a lot like ‘business’ but is actually a whole lot of personal.”
