84. Proof That Consistency is NOT the key
Have you been told that to get what you want you have to be consistent? Me too. Whether it’s with parenting, fitness, diet, career – being consistent is sold to as the answer to our problems. You don’t have to be consistent to get what you want and what you need. Today I share how my attempts at consistency led me to overwhelm and burnout, and what I learned to do instead. Listen today to learn: Why consistency is sold to us and why our brains are so eager to buy it How consistency is actually harming us What to do instead Mentioned today: My attempt at 30 days of IG reels – spoiler alert – I did it, but I paid a price For all the behind the scenes come find me on Instagram! 76. How to Reduce Mom Burnout by Doing This ONE Thing
As a mom, getting any alone time or feeling rested and balanced can be quite difficult. Despite the abundance of self-help books, podcasts, and so-called parenting “experts”, parents still get overwhelmed and exhausted trying to juggle it all. More times than not parental burnout is due to the unrealistic standards and impossibly high expectations we place on ourselves.   Moms that can ask themselves “What do I really need?” and then give themselves permission to do that thing can catch burnout early before it turns into a forest fire. At the end of the day, it’s a lack of permission that causes parents to feel like they are losing the battle of competing demands. The journey to giving yourself permission has some requirements. Listen today to learn: What giving yourself permission to do things differently looks like What gets in the way when you try to give yourself permission How to push through all of these barriers to giving yourself permission For all the behind the scenes come find me on Instagram! There you can also learn how to work with me. If you’ve been going back and forth about getting help, take this as your sign. We can do a one hour SOS session or you can apply to work with me in one of my longer-term programs.
