Through life we put an awful lot of trust in people, but they let us down. We are then left hurt wondering if we can even turn to our Creator. In my life I've been hurt by many people in my life, many in the name of God. I became angry and turned my back on God. In my darkest moments alone, I was reminded that we put our trust only in the Creator of the heavens and the earth, He is not a man that He should lie. It's not easy watching someone you love deeply suffering from the symptoms of alcoholism, addiction, mental illness or even domestic violence. You desperately want to see them set free. However true recovery is only possible when they have made the decision for themselves. There can be many rock bottoms. Life is unpredictable, but love is steadfast. Only unconditional love can help lead someone out of bondage into freedom. Where there's breath there's hope. May the Creator give you the strength to lead your loved one back into the light never to return to the darkness that once held them hostage.
