Kate Garza had a remarkable introduction to yoga as a senior in college more than forty years ago and it was an immediate match. She has been vibing with it ever since in an adult life-long relationship.Early on when yoga teachers or classes were scarce in the U.S., Kate continued her own home practice while working in marketing and advertising. After marriage and three children in quick succession, she returned to yoga classes, by then more abundant, and worked to receive certification to teach Ashtanga yoga with Manju Jois in 2001.In the years since, she studied Mindfulness Meditation, Trauma Informed yoga, yoga for kids, functional anatomy, Hatha and Vinyasa practices while teaching in studios in the Philly suburbs. After a cancer diagnosis in 2012, she began to work with Qi Gong and other energy movement practices to heal and recover from treatment. She is now a Master Teacher of Energy Medicine Yoga, founded by Lauren Walker and teaches virtually, primarily with a dedicated following and she works individually or in small groups with those who are facing health challenges.
