On November 18th, 2012, Dylan Redwine, on a court ordered visit to see his dad in Bayfield, Colorado, sent out his last text message at 9:37 p.m. He was never heard from again. He would stay missing for about 6 months before what was left of him was discovered by hikers along a mountainside near his father, Mark Redwine’s, house. She was an incredibly high achiever and would go on to become a professor of psychology at a university in Geneva. However, the road there was not easy, as Patricia described being sexually abused as a child and also having been date raped while attending college. The twist in her story is that her alleged rapist wound up being hacked to death with a meat cleaver 3 weeks later. His murder investigation grew cold…but it did not go away forever.
