Great stories! Full of wonder and hope!

I’ve now listened to a couple of episodes of this show and what I really appreciate is that the optimism the creators are striving for involves room for questioning, fear, and doubt. It’s not about just making us feel good, but how to feel some sense of hope in such a bleak time without it feeling cheesy or fake.

This is my first time writing a review and it’s apt to be this podcast. Open World exemplifies my favorite thing about sci fi: the creators imagine different hopeful (and dire) futures over and over. The mix of audio fiction and interviews makes it really interesting and fun to listen to. Great voice acting and sound effects! It’s the perfect podcast for Election Day/week!

A wonderful dip into the world of "Hopepunk". For those feeling down on what the future may hold, remember that it is changeable. I would suggest starting with the Newitz story, its one I really enjoyed.

The website is extremely inaccessible with its text color choice and contrast ratios. It was also unclear that this is a fiction podcast. It’s not even spelled out clearly on their website.

Open World has such an insightful view of the world which is really refreshing for the genre, which is usually so consumed with dystopia

You need to listen to this. It’s a podcast about hope. You need hope. I need hope. This isn’t ignorant, dumb hope, it’s drawing from a bigger, more inclusive idea of what’s possible, and anyway: This first episode was great. Way to go @OpenWorldPod!
