I’m joined by Alex, an investor and advisor, for a conversation that explores "That Which Is Lost vs. Left Behind." We originally set out to have a conversation about modern dating with the umbrella topics of Vanity, Ghosting, and Approaching. Though our conversation largely revolves around these topics, we were able to get at something much deeper - the process by which and the value of overcoming fear in our lives. We start with a discussion on transitional states in life then move to an introspection on vanity. We continue with the value of the process of in-person dating and courtship, including the implications for personal growth, the impact of one’s motives, and the outcomes by which progress is measured. Finally we close with thoughts on the developmental impact of digital courtship. There is much to be gained through the natural process and much to be lost through the digital one.

“One of the greatest handicaps is to fear a mistake. You have stopped yourself. You have to move freely into the arena, not just to wait for the perfect situation, the perfect moment... If you have to make a mistake, it's better to make a mistake of action than one of inaction. If I had the opportunity again, I would take chances.”
