One Love One Planet: the importance of the 'commons' and why they are under threat...

Climate Change Is a National Security Threat.
British military leaders and security services, MI5 & MI6, tell us: Climate change is now a core national security threat.  This is not a future problem or a trade-off. Addressing climate change is central to national security today, not something to postpone. It’s time to meet your MP and ask what they will do to protect us.  Join the campaign at  https://www.zerohour.uk/

You are more powerful than you may think.
If you are concerned about the climate emergency and the loss of nature, you may feel that there is little you can do about it.  But you are more powerful than you may think.  Over the years, activists have shifted the climate change conversation, leading to real, positive action. In this podcast, we will look at how ordinary people in Bristol are peacefully campaigning to resist the forces that are driving climate change, and you will hear how you can join them.

The climate that fed us is changing - but a food revolution can build a stronger future.
As heat, drought, floods and fires increasingly affect global breadbaskets, we’re being called to rethink how food is made. The good news? We have powerful solutions. Precision fermentation — think high-tech brewing — can produce abundant, affordable, animal-free dairy, eggs and meat, with high quality and low cost. It might sound impossible — but listen in and come away surprised, inspired and hopeful.

The Climate Emergency They’re Not Telling Us About.
Top scientists warn the UK faces a climate–nature crisis more serious than COVID — worsened by misinformation and weak politics — but the government won't lead decisive action that can still change everything. We voted for a Green Council in Bristol, but their draft Local Plan would allow developers to build on almost any green space.  There is still time to persuade them to change it.

Four environmental stories in one.
Our stories: The COP 30 has just finished. Listen to the experts tell us - What are the COP meetings? Do they make any difference? How could we do things better?    Extreme heat and drought led to Europe’s forests becoming tinder dry. Research for a film found that criminal gangs often started the fires.   The communities affected worked together to stop them.    The UK water industry is in a mess, and our rivers and seas are polluted and we face water shortages. Two campaigners describe how they plan to use the power of the community to take a different approach to this.    75% of people want to do something about climate change, and 100% want to reduce the cost of their electricity bills. Hear about a new group in Bristol that wants to help you to do both of these, and it doesn’t have to cost you a penny!

Approving the Rosebank oil field would be a very bad idea.
Before the last election, Labour promised there would be no new oil fields in British waters. Two years ago, Ed Miliband called Rosebank' climate vandalism’. Now in government, he must decide whether to approve Rosebank, which would be the largest new oil and gas field in British waters for 20 years.  If we want a liveable climate, we can't allow any new oil and gas projects or licences. The UK must stop Rosebank and all new oil & gas fields.
