Climate change is going to be turbo-charged by the ‘Godzilla’  El Niño.  We still don’t know how Andy Burnham’s government will react to the climate emergency, but he has given us some clues.

We see fewer noisy street protests; instead, activists bring about change by screening climate science films and using the law.    We hear about a campaign that is using the law to persuade the BBC to report the truth about the climate emergency.

Bristol Airport has applied for planning permission to increase its annual passenger numbers to 15 million,  an increase of 28%.  This will mean over 1000 extra night lights, over 4 million more people travelling to the airport on their already congested roads, and a huge increase in pollution.   They also intend to enlarge their runway and install landing lights on Felton Common, which is an ancient wildlife haven.    The local people are furious and determined to stop the airport's plans.  I met the Save Felton Common campaign group as they were about to protest outside the airport.

Extinction Rebellion co-founder Clare Farrell and conservation scientist Dr. Charlie Gardner discuss the First International Conference on Transitioning Away from Fossil Fuels.  The conference took place in April 2026, in Colombia. Frustrated by the failure of UN, COP, climate summits, almost 60 countries, including the UK, convened to create concrete national roadmaps to phase out coal, oil, and gas.
