Welcome back to ‘On the Record … with MAH’ – the student-led podcast by the School of Media, Arts and Humanities at the University of Sussex.
In this series, we talk about all things LGBTQ+ and for this first part, we discuss film representation and TV recommendations. Featuring Isobel Elrick and Sara Alshief, we critique the progression of representation such as Killing Eve, Heartstopper, Euphoria, Tangerine, Skins, Glee and many more. We explain the industry's continuous biphobic and homophobic attitudes to representation mentioning the bury-the-gays trope and limited queer representation specifically in the asexual community.
