In part two of this series, in this episode, we discuss the political and economic oppression inflicted on the LGBTQ+ community, particularly in Egypt. In the case of Sarah Hegazi; an Egyptian human rights activist who committed suicide whilst in exile in Canada on 14.6.2020. She claimed asylum there after being arrested, detained & tortured for raising the LGBTQ+ flag at a concert in Cairo 2017. We discuss the upcoming anniversary of the Egyptian LGBTQ+ activist and celebrate her legacy with a close friend of hers, Sara Alshief along with Isobel Elrick.
