I spent a lot of years trying to outrun or outsmart vulnerability by making things certain and definite, black and white, good and bad. My inability to lean into the discomfort of vulnerability limited the fullness of those important experiences that are wrought with uncertainty: Love, belonging, trust, joy, and creativity to name a few.
Fear is often our immediate response to uncertainty. There's nothing wrong with experiencing fear. They key is not to get stuck in it.
We are biological creatures. We are born, we live, we die. There is no transcendent purpose to existence. At best we are creatures of reason, and by using reason we can cure ourselves of emotional excess. Purged of both hope and fear, we find courage in the face of helplessness, insignificance and uncertainty.
Incredible change happens in your life when you decide to take control of what you do have power over instead of craving control over what you don’t.

Strong friendships are a critical aspect of most people's emotional well-being. Research indicates that close friendships are associated with greater happiness, self-esteem, and sense of purpose.
Friendship creates a foundation through which we can develop social skills, advance our careers and romantic relationships, and enjoy compassion and support.
Someone who is a true friend stands up for you. When others try to hurt you emotionally or physically, they do everything they can to make sure you stay safe. They don’t care who is trying to harm you; they will defend you anytime, anywhere. If they can help you, they’ll do it without reservation or reward. A true friend is not one who repeatedly is telling you negative things other people say about you. First, they make it clear by their words and by their actions where they stand when it comes to you. Secondly, they don’t just merely standby silently when others are tearing you down no matter what consequences they may face socially. A true friend is a friend when is convenient and when it is not. They standby you consistently both when you are present and when you are not.
Everyone has their own ideal friend. In addition to the qualities shared by all true friends, you may want a friend who shares your interests or goals. Or, you might want to spend time with people who are different from you in ways that challenge you to grow as a person. If your current friends let you down, redefining true friendship can open the door to a rich, rewarding relationship.

Although kinks and fetishes are becoming more mainstream, they can still feel taboo. Secretly scouring the internet for a list of kinks to try with your partner can feel subversive—and hot.
For the uninitiated, learning about kinks and fetishes may feel intimidating. First things first, understand what is a kink and what is a fetish?
A kink is defined as a sexual activity that falls outside of sex that society traditionally considers "acceptable." That can include everything from role-playing to bondage to whips.
A fetish technically refers to an attraction to an inanimate object, although this includes body parts, such as feet (like a foot fetish). So a fetish is a type of kink.
No matter what you're into, kink is about consent, communication, and compromise. Before trying any new sex act, obtaining enthusiastic, continuous consent from all parties involved is a must.
Your kinks may not perfectly align with your partner’s, and that’s okay. “Just because you want it doesn’t mean that someone has to do it,”
As you explore, what you're okay with and what you're not will likely change, so it's important to keep a running dialogue about your limit.

The term “bisexual” is used to describe a person who experiences emotional, romantic and/or sexual attractions to, or engages in romantic or sexual relationships with, more than one sex or gender. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported in a 2016 publication that 1.3 percent of women and 1.9 percent of men said they were “homosexual, gay, or lesbian,” and that 5.5 percent of women and 2 percent of men said they were bisexual. These findings indicate that bisexual people may comprise the largest single group in the LGB community for both women and men. Nevertheless, many believe that bisexuality does not really exist, and bisexual people suffer bi-invisibility or erasure and bi-negativity from both the lesbian and gay community and the heterosexual community, which may explain evidence suggesting higher rates of health disparities bisexuals experience compared to either.

Life is never easy – it can be a constant struggle, with extreme lows and incredible highs. Life will humble you, and it will attempt to break you down. Sometimes in life, we need quotes about strength to remind us to remain strong through hard times.
Unfortunately, hard times can come in many forms in life. There is no doubt that the current global crisis has exasperated many of life’s challenges; they can vary from relationship difficulties, losing a loved one, illness, financial hardship, job loss, sporting disappointments, isolation, fear and anxiety to name a few.
You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.' You must do the thing you think you cannot do.
Special thanks Lance, Shema, Fostia, Sage, Toussaint and my co host Keem.

Sometimes, you have to look back in order to understand the things that lie ahead.
2021 has definitely been a taxing year, it has challenged or mental, physical and emotional wellbeing.
This week we sat down to reflect on the year that was. Despite the dark moments many great memories and life lessons were attained.
This for sure was worth being grateful for and celebrated. As we catapult into a new year, one with endless possibilities. Let us step outside of our comfort zones, If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door.
Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase. Just take the first step.
Begin somewhere. You cannot build a reputation on what you intend to do.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.
We wish you all well of the coming year.
MERRY CHRISTMAS & A PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR !!

Toxic relationships with parents affect the mental health and general welfare of children. The difference between poor parenting and toxic parenting is only a matter of degree. Lacking insight, maturity, or compassion, toxic parents may cause mental and physical agony, trauma, and lasting mental problems for their children. We need to check such dysfunctional parenting patterns to foster a healthy relationship with children and gift them a happy childhood.

In a culture where hyper-independency is expected and co-dependency is discouraged, the line between “asking too much” and “expecting too little” can become blurred.
You’ve found yourself questioning if you were asking too much of your partners, or if your expectations were perfectly reasonable, more than once.
Many of you have been labelled as a door mat, a pushover, anxiously-attached, and co-dependent,You’ve often found myself confused regarding what I have the right to ask for in a relationship.
You’ve been left wondering if you should just fulfill the need on your own — is that what I’m supposed to do? — or if asking for more would be standing up for myself and an act of self-respect.
Dating is confusing, exciting, difficult, and not black and white; there is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to love. Every individual is unique, and every relationship is unique.
Special thanks to our guests this week Liana and Bianca for stopping by.

“Mental health” refers to how people think, feel and act as they face life’s situations. Our mental health affects how we handle stress, relate to one another and make decisions. And mental health influences the way individuals look at themselves, their lives and others in their lives. Like physical health, mental health is important at every stage of life.
All aspects of our lives are affected by our mental health, and protecting our children’s mental health is a natural part of our parental obligation. Caring for our children emotionally as well as physically is critical to their daily lives and their independence.
On this episode I have the privilege to be joined by Miss ALICIA EDWARDS who will share the importance of fostering good mental health.
She has been a mental health advocate and a representative of Jamaica Mental Health Advocacy Network for two years now. She first got into mental health when my big brother died by suicide and that lead me to having my own mental health issues such as depression and anxiety.
