Old Wisdom New Era
Old Wisdom New Era
Charles Vogl
The Old Wisdom New Era podcast explores the life-changing lessons that form us and give our lives meaning through both desperate and happy times. The conversations explore the experiences, and insights that lead us toward maturity. In our time, millions of Americans work to build a safer and more just country. This is also the most age segregated era in American history. Our culture lacks adequate forums for new generations to learn and interpret the wisdom previously passed through elders. So, leaders, activists and visionaries often lack access to the hard won lessons from those who stumbled and succeeded before. Wisdom here refers to the lessons that are not only helpful for us personally in our time, but also durable and true for others in many times. It forms us and informs us in the majority of life where facts alone cannot direct us to a right choice. Wisdom must be interpreted and applied to a new era. Host Charles Vogl is the author of three books, including the international best selling The Art of Community. He is an advisor to globally influential organizations, a former human rights, homelessness and labor activist, PBS documentary filmmaker, and a current Gen X father. He is a founding member of the Google Vitality Lab which fosters collaboration for innovative strategies that promote healing. He studied spiritual traditions, ethics and business at Yale as a Jesse Ball duPont Foundation Scholar.
