While she started out in the traditionally female-dominated HR sector, Beth Noser found a true calling in the more male-dominated tech world. Since, she’s been slaying it as Solutions Architect for The University of Kansas Health System, while working to make people who identify as other than white, male, or cis feel welcome and valued within her field. Patrick talked to Beth about her work with Kansas City Women in Tech, as well as efforts she’s led in her own organization to accelerate inclusion. They also chat about how to become a good ally, discuss actions we can take to promote inclusion and uncover some surprising (or not-so-surprising) stats. Throw on your empathy hats listeners, this might be one of the most important conversations we’ve had yet!

We've said it and we stand by it: modernization is a must. But change involves more than your technology. How do you get your teams up to speed so they can support your new software effectively? Joining us to spin his own team’s transformation tale is Mark Gould, Chief Technical Offer for Spindlemedia. Mark talks about the process of developing his team at the same time as updating their core tax-office software, covering juicy, people-centric topics like individual empowerment, remote challenges and opportunities, documentation and automation, and getting buy-in on new technology. He also goes into the actual business benefits of their team-building efforts and highlights the perks of having such savvy coaches along the way (#humblebrag).
