Excellent!
I recently stumbled across this; it was informative and fun! But most importantly, it has compelled me to go back and read some classic literature that I missed previously in life. Many thanks for an excellent podcast. — Luke

What a banger
The best days are oh no lit class days. I get to learn about all the classic books I didn’t read/understand and Megan and RJ are just a delight. And the cats. My cat appreciates them while we listen.

A great podcast!
Just discovered this podcast today, and after listening to one episode I am already hooked. Delightful hosts with a great premise who cover classic and no so classic novels, poems, short stories, etc in a really funny way. I hope they cover my favorite Arthurian legend fanfic The Once and Future King by TH White someday.

Found from MBMBaM
Found them from their ad on MBMBaM when listening to one of the older episodes. They’ve been one reason to smile during quarantine

It’s Lit!
As someone with a master’s degree in creative writing, I approve.

Hilarious
They are incredible hosts and the chemistry is perfect throughout. It’s very well produced and engaging front to back. I’m a big English Lit nerd and gaining perspective while also using constant humor is a perfect combo.

Crash course English degree with two great nerds
This is everything I wanted in a Lit podcast. Two relatable nerds who yell about authors. Each ep breaks down a book via a short bio on the author giving context to the work then covering the books plot and central themes. So if you want to get cultured but don’t want to wade through Whitman, check it out!

Actually laughing out loud
I CANNOT with these two 🤣🤣🤣 I was hooked at the first episode, and I think this is gonna be my new favorite podcast ❤️❤️❤️ you guys rock!

An Absolute Banger Of A Podcast
This podcast always makes me laugh, and it makes me love classic literature more than I already did!

Fun and informative
This podcast makes me laugh out loud regularly as well as making me think about books I’ve read and learn about books I haven’t. I’m starting at the beginning and binge listening. I especially enjoy getting an overview of the background of the authors. Thanks!

Incredible
I listen to beaucoup podcasts but have very few of them set to hit the top of my queue the second they are released... this is one of them. This puts Megan and RJ on the same level as Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me—the biggest compliment I can think of. Their research is great, they’re both funny as hell, and their show reminds me that being a screwed up mess doesn’t stop people from being great authors.

The Best
Of all the podcasts I listen to, this one is the best. The best hosts with amazing chemistry, it's edited extremely well, and is just so goddamn funny. It is, in a word, Hogwild.

Yes please.
I’m not sure who I like more, Megan or RJ? Just when I think it’s Megan because of her sassy and contagious enthusiasm, then RJ cracks me up with a couple of words. These two are some of my favorite podcasts personalities. Not only is the banter and chemistry grade, but the content is interesting and informative. Definitely subscribe to this one people.

Irreverent and intelligent
If you’re looking for a irreverent and fun approach to stuffy works of literature then you’ve come to the right place. These two enjoy pointing out the sillier side of authors, their literature , and the importance of their works. A great way to brush of up your authors or simply preview some books you should read! Great work guys
Cutting Class Podcast
I want to join their group project.
Megan and RJ do a wonderful job bringing life into the summary format. It's nice when the class clowns actually know what they're talking about. Literature and cameraderie, a formula this podcast is doing right.

Fun!
I haven't read many classics (by choice) and this is a delightful way to spark notes them while also having fun!

Ugggg
It’s like the worst parts of a combined 4000/5000 level college lit seminar. Not smart enough to be graduate level and pompous enough to be a “know-it” all senior English lit major.

One of my favorite shows
This podcast is consistently funny and I always learn something from
it! It’s high school lit class if high school lit class was any fun at all.

An underrated gem!
Despite being criminally unknown, this podcast is funny, unique, and intelligent.
It’s the MBMBAM of classic literature.

Not your typical lit class!
Like Spark Notes--but way more fun! I'm thoroughly enjoying this podcast and love hearing their really lively discussions about some of my favorite classics. I just finished the Frankenstein episode, and (as a big fan of Frankenstein) I really appreciated that they went all in on Mary Shelley's very emo life in addition to the book discussion.
It reminds me of my favorite book discussions from college, with professors who weren't afraid to tell it like it is and cuss a little along the way. Just a truly enjoyable show for anyone who loves books and wants to have some fun with them.

Really funny podcast!
Am I the only one convinced that Megan sounds exactly like Red from Overly Sarcastic Productions? It’s really eerie, actually.

Wonderfully approachable
Megan and RJ are so charming and informative. I love hearing their takes on literature and the fun spin they put on the classics. They make working long weeks bearable.

Booky Wooky Time
Solidly entertaining show. 10 out of 10 will listen again. Sometimes it seems that RJ would rather be doing anything else but the episode at hand and once in a while Meg will land a pretty harsh / snarky rebuttal to a silly comment, but it’s not enough to deter me from listening to the next episode.

Fantastic Show!
This is a wonderful and entertaining podcast for those that love books or those that want to know more about books and their authors. The hosts are very informative, but they find the perfect balance of educational and hilarious. Love it!

Drunk Guys Book Club are fans!
Funny and informative conversations from hosts who work great together! This is what literature class was supposed to be. If we had more of this, we might have some more readers in the world. Keep fighting the good fight!

Required listening about required listening.
This show is funny as all get out, and breaks down the classics of old times and new in a way you’ll never forget.
Turn Of Phrases Podcast
Very cool concept, fun show
This was a cool concept to find/discover. The selection of episodes is very much what the hosts promise and the discussion is lively and interesting. Some parts could be stretched out or condensed IMO, for example in the “3 musketeers” episode there is a lot of plot summary (most of it funny) but not as much analysis/reflection by both hosts after. Would have enjoyed a more even split. The research on the author was very cool and informative. Subscribe 👍

A podcast for book nerds that don’t themselves too seriously.
The perfect combo of literature knowledge and penis jokes! It will make you laugh while you learn something new about the books they forced you to read in high school.

Soothes my English major soul
I love this podcast! The hosts are so engaging and fun to listen to, and they do such a wonderful job of going over the material that they read. It’s truly a joy to listen to!

Exactly how class should have been
You've got historical context, stupid jokes, actual analysis, and that guy who just can't help adding more stupid jokes. Really, what more could you want?

Dead Authors...mostly
I love these two! They are hilarious and bring so much fun to stories we might have hated to read in high school. Meagan's sarcasm and RJ's dry sense of humor, make for a great combination. I'm a big fan!!

So good!
Oh no! Lit Class is a gem. The hosts take a piece of literature, give an author bio, recap the book, and then give cultural significance for the book. The hosts Megan and RJ have excellent chemistry, resulting in wonderful moments of banter that always add to (not distract from) the conversation at hand. The podcast is funny, insightful, and educational. While lesser podcasters may find achieving this trifecta a challenge, these hosts could get there even if they (bram s)toked a baby-sized blunt. These hosts do a lot of things well, but I want to point out something super specific that might otherwise be overlooked: they keep the characters straight. At one point, Megan had a scene with like seven people in a room...describing this, she omitted some names, favoring instead their helpful nicknames that reminds the listener of the character’s role and significance. Among them were Van Helsing (def Hugh Jackman, but Vin Diesel would have been an interesting if unconventional casting choice), “the doctor” and “the American dude.” Later, when Quincy dies, Megan subtly reminds the listener who he is while being laugh out loud funny: “RIP Quincy. You were from Texas.” These little notes are so easy to miss, but SO important with this kind of show.
To the hosts: keep up the excellent work!
To the audience: OMG THIS IS AWESOME, RIGHT?!1!
To potential listeners: you’ve now got homework.

Lots of energy!
It’s clear the hosts are having a great time and it comes through in the audio. There’s a manic energy that makes the history and context more fun to get through. Subscribed and looking forward to more.

Educational and Enjoyable!
If you are looking to be entertained and round out your literary knowledge this is a fantastic podcast. The interplay is quick and clever and I feel like I can answer more Jeopardy question after every episode!

Victorian literature is weird
I've read most of these classics but never was able to put my feelings into words until listening to this show. Megan and RJ do a great job tearing apart the average 9th grade reading curriculum and exposing the seemingly ubiquitous repressed sexual tension present in every Victorian author. Love this show!

Great, Fun, and Informative!

Just because the authors are dead doesn’t mean they can’t still move us!
Great topics. Great banter. Great show!

Very funny and one of my favorite podcasts
I found this from 2 pods a day, and I was super glad because I am really enjoying the format. As a former English major, I remember reading some of these books and it's great to have a funny perspective on the literature college makes us suffer through. I genuinely laugh out loud at this show and look forward to it every two weeks. It's one of my must listens and keep up the great work.

Megan and RJ are a delight
Look, we all have our guilty pleasures, and for most of us, reading takes a back seat to the growing pile of dreck we waste our time on. That's where Oh No, Lit Class! comes in! You don't even have to read, the two lovely hosts will walk you through the story, give you some background information and make you smile and giggle all the while!

My Favorite Literary Podcast
This is one of the few lit podcasts I can listen to, and it is literally lit! Megan and RJ make me laugh every episode, by taking classic literature and bringing it into the modern age. I have binged every episode thus far, and while sad by that prospect, am looking forward to more and more great episodes!

Fun and friendly!
Completely hilarious, and always full of nuggets of knowledge (and themselves), Meg and RJ have created a very enjoyable podcast. They dutifully balance diligence and comprehensiveness in their research alongside sex and poop jokes.
Like a sumptuous plate of foie gras or tickled fawn weenus, Oh No Lit Class! delivers to all of the senses, and is one of the better ways to occupy only your ears for 50 minutes at at time.

I recommend this podcast to anyone that crosses my path. The summaries and background info on works/ authors are not only informative but absolutely hilarious. Meg and RJ never disappoint.

Like listening to eighth graders discussing literature
Got about halfway through the episode on Nineteen Eighty-Four—enduring the fact the presenters had apparently never heard of the Spanish Civil War before researching the episode, were uncomfortable with the caricatured Jewish depiction of Emmanuel Goldstein (the Party is anti-Semitic, dummy, not the book for depicting it as such), giggling over Winston Smith's obsession with sex (having seemingly entirely missed that the Party deliberately redirects sexual frustration into violence), poop jokes, etc.—before turning it off and unsubscribing. Unfunny, shallow, amateurish. I'm out.
