Native Oregonian learning a bit more about “Gods Country.”
I came upon this podcast accidentally and love what I’ve heard so far… easy listen chock-full of informative Oregon history. Thank you from an appreciative Portlander now in Texas.

Informative, funny and adorable!
I just love this podcast. I binged every episode and look forward to the new ones. Finn is an amazing orator and storyteller who makes history fascinating. I came to this podcast during a very dark time in my life and it brought me a sense of joy and connection with my local history. It also inspires me artistically, for some reason. I get great inspiration from the tales of the past, and it connects me with the humanity that we all have no matter what century we reside in the great state of Oregon. Never stop, love it! In fact, I’d love to see a live show sometime!

ruined my life
I had a good thing going before this podcast. Then I went on my iphone 5 SE and opened Itunes to listen to a new podcast for the day cause thats what I do. THe podcast was so bad that my dog sdied immediatly after playing it and my day was ruined. I then ran into some H3r0in and started using. I lost my job, my car, my house, and then my wife left me. This podcast completely ruined my life and i want to end it all just because of this.

History presented brilliantly
With his delightful writing style and personable reading manner, Finn J.D. John has created a brilliant and relatively family friendly podcast on the highlight and lowlights of Oregon history. Spanning nearly 200 years and all parts of the Beaver state, Mr. John presents the listener with tales of unfortunate ships crews, lively country doctors and preachers, mysterious deaths, looney politicians and beloved institutions. A typical podcast is usually a brisk, informative 10 to 15 minutes long. In that time Finn miraculously presents tales from Oregon history that are succinct and fascinating. The episodes website includes a clickable link to the episode you can listen to on the internet, a transcription of the read text and, where available, images pertaining to the topic. I can’t count how frequently I’ve recommended this podcast to others, now I’m sincerely recommending it to you. Mr. John has a brilliant podcast that is sure to pull you in and leave you wanting more

One of the Best
Easily one of the best podcasts, Finn J. D. John takes us on some wonderful adventures in Oregon’s past. One does not have to live in Oregon to appreciate this podcast.

Copious odds and ends of Oregon history
Frequently released, quick gems of Oregon history. Not always the most fascinating story telling, but the brevity of the podcasts allows the listener to get in and get out before things get too dry.

One Of My Favorites!
This was one of the first podcasts I subscribed to and have been listening ever since, 6 years or so, and I hope to continue for many more. Between the interesting stories from the region and the host's calm, melodic voice this podcast is a must listen for anyone interested in history, particularly pioneer history.

Holy Cow!
I'm not a native Oregonian. Moved to to Oregon in 2004 and have been hunting for good Oregon stories ever since. This podcast is a Godsend! Fascinating stories that not only inform the listener but inspire road trips. Highly recommended!

Fascinating Stories
A set of stories that you probably haven't heard yet, all about Oregon History. I suspect that all states have interesting stories to tell, but Oregon is relatively new and raw, so its stories are closer to the present than you might think. Try them even if you don't live in Oregon. You will enjoy them. I just wanted to add to this review. The longer I listen the more I like it. I've gone through all of the old shows by now, and this is definitely a winner. If I have any of them available, they are the first podcasts I listen to.

Just Amazing
This little podcast has quickly become one of my favorites. My wife and I pulled our kids out of school for the day and drove over to the coast. The whole way there we listened to selected episodes of this podcast (boiler bay, depot bay, Oregon's distinctive bridges, and others not even about the coast). It made the trip down 34 to Waldport from corvallis seem like a breeze, and as we headed north on 101 we couldn't wait to see all the things we had just listened to being described to us on the way over. When we stopes at boiler bay for lunch, the tide wasn't low enough to see the boiler, but we knew it was there, we knew the whole story, wish we would have seen it, but we will be back plenty of times. Again great job with this one Finn. I'm glad I stumbled on to this.
