The Podcast that Makes My Car Rides
When my mom passed, I had a very hard time being alone and keeping myself from thinking and crying, especially on my 40-45min commute to work. My therapist suggested listening to a podcast while I drive to keep me occupied. I took to social media for suggestions and began listening to this podcast. 10 episodes in so far, it’s the only one I’ll listen to until I’m caught up. It’s just the right amount of entertainment and distraction I needed. For those car rides, I enter this world of conversational, authentic chat about Chicago, about local businesses, and about these fascinating local people with unique backgrounds and interesting stories to share. And Dion has a 10/10 personality that is funny and engaging, but he’s also so smart and experienced and it’s why these conversations with his guests can flourish the way they do and never seem forced or awkward. I learn at least one thing from each episode that I take with me in life, my favorite being from Lance—of something is difficult, take it one little step at a time. I look forward to the rest of this podcast!

Great Chicago stories told in a velvety smooth voice
I love Off the Beaten Podcast! Host Dion is an engaging interviewer and has so many stories himself. His enthusiam for conversation is contagious. The podcast feels like I'm eavesdropping on a fascinating conversation in a croweded cafe. The guests are so varied and his voice is just perfect.

Great stories so far- I have enjoyed getting to know both guests and host through these extended interviews. The topics vary not only by guest, but also within each interview. Expect an intimate portrait!

This is one you should definitely put into regular rotation.
Yo...I may be biased, because I created this show, but being as objective as I can be, I think this offers something special. Because Chicago isn’t simply a microcosm unto itself, even if you don’t live in the Chi, you’ll find this one entertaining and insightful. It has been a labor of love, and we’re only getting started. Definitely check us out, rate, review, and be sure to sign up for our mailing list. All that is in the liner notes!
