Before the marches, before the movements, there was a battle. And most of us were never taught who fought it or who lost. Monique and Kevin sit down with Dr. Karen Ellis, theological ethicist and researcher at The Center for Christian Endurance, to uncover the largely erased story of Black Baptist leaders who recognized Marxist ideological pressure for what it was and refused it. The painful irony Dr. Ellis's research surfaces is this: what the Black church once bled to keep out has now largely been welcomed in, dressed in justice language and preached from Black pulpits as if it were gospel. This is not merely a history lesson. It's a warning and a call.Off Code #80Season 5, Episode 10
