In the second episode of Odd Dad Rush, I explain two ways you and/or your kids might become a fan of a certain team.
I'll also recap the Capitals' road to their 2018 Stanley Cup title, talk about the Islanders and a "Mausoleum" and putting lipstick on a pig, offer up varying pronunciations of a West Coast hockey team's name, and genuinely swoon over what an awesome game hockey is. There's also another Weekly Rewind and an abbreviated plus-minus (there's no minus).
Thanks again for tuning in.

In the very first episode of Odd Dad Rush, I get you all caught up from my childhood in Long Island as an Islanders fan living in a baseball town to present day, an Islanders and Capitals fan who's now a hockey dad.
In this episode, I'll discuss the nostalgia that are the Hartford Whalers, the Boston Bruins Learn to Play program, a home-and-away hockey doubleheader, Connor McDavid, the Islanders (again), and the Calgary Flames.
There are also some pretty fancy sound effects (OK, only 2), a little foreshadowing into future episodes, a few segments I plan on incorporating into the pod weekly, and glitche/noise issues that I'll get figured out. And a lot of "so," "uh," and "buts."
Thanks for tuning in.

I grew up on Long Island in the midst of and not far from Nassau Coliseum, a magical place that the Islanders called home as they won four straight Stanley Cup championships. But I chose baseball.
A lot has changed since my childhood. I now live in Connecticut (where the Whalers are nothing more than nostalgia) with my wife and three sons, the oldest choosing hockey as his sport.
In this podcast, I'll talk about things like the tremendous time commitment to overzealous parents and everything in between. The goal (dad joke) of Odd Dad Rush is to give you a peek behind the curtains into my journey as a newish hockey dad.
