My experience before starting clinical, what you need to know, and what to prioritize! Also I stumbled on my words a few times!! But I didnāt want to re-record because I thought it just shows how human I am and that imperfections are okay!

I had a request to discuss this topic! The key points in this episode are: make time for yourself and balance your life, do focused studying instead of trying to learn everything, prioritize studying information that focuses on client safety, share your workload, learn how you learn best, and find support systems for yourself. Also I stumbled on my words a few times!! But I didnāt want to re-record because I thought it just shows how human I am and that imperfections are okay!

I recorded this episode twice consecutively. The first 18 minutes are the fast version of this episode with music in the background. After the 18 minute mark I re-recorded the episode speaking more slowly and without music in the background. I did this because different people learn at different speeds. Here is a review of safety checks, vitals, head to toe. I used the stanbridge head to toe physical assessment sheet for reference. The link is www4.stanbridge.edu . Please message me if you have any questions! :)

I wanted to add that there are situations when caring for people that you know is sometimes unavoidable for example in a RURAL setting! There are exceptions to some of the things I have said in this podcast and if you are unsure about anything talk to your clinical instructor, your class instructors! What I have said here is my take and what I have learned. OOPS: I realize 1am is morning. š

A very basic discussion that touches on avoiding dehumanization of clients, prioritizing which client to assess first, safety, communication with your primary RN, and sleep!
