After a brief pub crawl (looking for a quiet spot to chat, honest) we found ourselves back in our usual pub and quickly decided that next week we need to rethink our choices...... so, apologies for the background noise (although the little girls who came toddling over to us were very cute). This week we chat about wild swimming (Tracy is a recent convert), a fab sounding bookshop called The Paper Hound in Canada, the benefit of having the right job title (or not). We also contemplated the possibility of emigrating..... (are there good bookshops in New Zealand?) Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

This week we settled ourselves in to the pub (it's becoming our regular) turned on the microphones Ihurrah!) and talked about talking, shared our thoughts on whether it's ok to stop watching a film/tv show or stop reading a book that wasn't working for us (spoiler: yes it is) and Heather was touched by a blast from the past that urges you to wear sunscreen. Oops. As experienced as we are as broadcasters, we still failed on the tech front this week [note to self, remember to turn microphone on next week!]. So, apologies for a bit of sound distortion for the first 5 minutes.Sat inside a pub this week we pontificate on the subject of things we wish we'd thought of (namely the Desert Island Dicks podcast), the misery of quiet quitting, the truly bizarre art work used by a health coaching company to attract 45+ year olds to their service (good luck with that) and the benefit of non gender specific baby names. We also drank cider (Heather) and lager (Tracy) and ate a bag of crisps each, but got the munching out of the way before we started to record. After years of presenting radio shows & podcasts produced to (nearly) professional standards, Tracy & Heather challenge themselves with a totally different choice - not necessarily a good one! They grapple with the issues caused by background noise in the beer garden they've chosen as the location to talk about the dangers of walking on the wrong side of the road, the best cities to live in & the joys of working a 4 day week. You'll also hear how Heather got her leg over at the steam fair last weekend. Trailer for Now Here’s a Thing, the latest podcast from Tracy Jones and Heather Noble. Now you can listen to the random ramblings of a couple of women who are in their second (maybe third?) flush of youth and you can marvel at the sheer skill it takes to consistently talk crap on almost any subject.
