Welcome back! In today's show, we start by talking about Essex pub, The White Hart Inn and their display of offensive golly dolls. We move on to our much-loved quiz, this time focusing on questions from the British Citizenship test. Anyone wanting to become a British citizen has to pass this test with a score of 75% or higher and despite resembling a bad pub quiz it’s supposed to ensure that applicants have a basic understanding of life in the UK (it also costs £50 to take). Play along and see how you do.
Finally, we close out the show by discussing the concept of Financial Fair Play and its effectiveness from an Everton and West Brom perspective.

Welcome to another episode of Nothing Seems Appropriate, this week things go a little bit Black Mirror as we'll be delving into the fascinating world of Chat GPT, the AI language model that's taking the world by storm. We'll talk about some of its uses and misuses and also discuss some of our chat prompts (get ready for a story involving Tom Brady and Jack Grealish discussing the price of apples).
Next up, it's time for our beloved quiz. We'll be testing our knowledge on today's topics, as well as some of the week's news stories and talking points.
We finish the show by revisiting one of the most confounding mysteries of our time: the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. We've been teasing this for a while now, and today, Alex is finally going to unveil his "world-class" theory about what happened on that fateful night in the Algarve.

*** NOTES - In the show, Alex mentions a chatbot that went racist, the name of the Chatbot is TAY, it was released by Microsoft in 2016 for a total of 16 hours before getting pulled // Alex also mentioned Google losing $100Billion in market value when their chatbot BARD made a mistake causing investors to lose confidence, the story goes like this “- In the advertisement, Bard is given the prompt: "What new discoveries from the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) can I tell my 9-year old about?" Bard responds with a number of answers, including one suggesting the JWST was used to take the very first pictures of a planet outside the Earth's solar system or exoplanets. The first pictures of exoplanets were, however, taken by the European Southern Observatory's Very Large Telescope (VLT) in 2004” ***

In today's show, we start with a bit of an apology around the Nicola Bulley investigation before inevitably digging a slightly bigger hole for ourselves by touching on some new theories - let's just say (or sing like Lenny) "It Ain’t Over ’til It’s Over".
We lighten the mood by talking about Julia Wendell from Poland who claims to be Madeline McCann and we also have an email from a listener that inspires some interesting conversation. We finish the show with a quiz in which we name 10 major events that have occurred since 1990 and all you have to do is name the year, sounds easy, right?

*** NOTES - Apologies for the audio in a couple of parts // If you were wondering, the answer is yes - despite it sounding pretty funny now, there was a little bit of tension in the air and some of the show was edited but what else do you expect when 3 creative geniuses come together to make "the funniest podcast out there" // We will be back soon, hopefully in a week or two when we can get a regular recording schedule back on track. Until then, if you haven't already, check out some of our older shows and don't forget to email us ***

We start by talking about the latest developments in the search for Nicola Bulley - Alex doubles down on his theory while Tom still has it in for Peter Faulding, the 'confined space rescue and forensic search specialist' who's certainly added another layer of intrigue to the story.
We also chat about the mysterious unidentified flying objects that have been spotted over North America in the past few weeks (aka Weather Balloons) before taking a look at the rest of Europe compared to the UK and deciding it's not so bad here after all.
We have a first for the show - an email from a listener, yes we'll admit, this is very a big deal for us. The final part of the show features our regular and much-loved quiz as well as a quick chat about Youtube boxers and the upcoming Tommy Fury vs Jake Paul bout.

There's a big story dominating the news this week, it's the disappearance of 45yr old Nicola Bulley who seemingly vanished into thin air whilst walking her dog in St Michael's on Wyre, Lancashire. Alex puts forward an interesting theory while Tom expresses his deep hate for forensic search specialist Peter Fauling who's currently working on the case. We also look at some of the social media comments and TikTok investigations that have sprung up around the story.
We move on from the Nicola Bulley case to our dearly loved quiz, this week there are 5 questions with a missing persons/true crime theme and 5 questions about the Grammy awards. If you're thinking what's the Grammys got to do with any of this? - it's because in the section after the quiz we chat about the 2023 Grammy awards and the Sam Smith/Kim Petras performance.
We finish the show with some football chat and also talk about the recent Allegations made against Manchester City regarding them cooking the books.

Imagine you're a Barber and a regular customer walks into the shop to get their regular haircut, about halfway through the hair cut the customer starts to show signs of an impending heart attack, what would you do? this isn't a test, in fact, it's exactly the situation Tom found himself in earlier this afternoon, just before recording today's episode. So we start the show by talking about that and hopefully provide some information about what not to do if you ever happen to find yourself in a similar situation.
We move on from heart attacks and talk about comedian Stewart Lee, who Tom recently saw perform and discuss his take on JK Rowling before chatting about Star Wars and Star Wars fans and ask the question, do any of the really hardcore Star Wars fans actually enjoy any of the films?
Our ever-popular quiz returns with a music theme, this week we are asking you to name the members of several popular musical acts. We also revisit one of our favourite subjects - The Beckhams, brand Beckham and the Beckham kids before chatting about 80s music, if you're wondering - Tom's a fan, and Alex isn't.
We finish the show talking about the continuing downfall of Everton FC, Football in general and make some predictions about who will be relegated from the premier league this season.

The start of a new year usually brings with it a renewed sense of hope, optimism and the feeling of a fresh start but this is Nothing Seems Appropriate which means it was never going to be that straightforward. While it's fair to say that since 2019 most people's thoughts on New Year's eve have been along the lines of "let's just hope this one's better than the last", the start of 2023 has been especially interesting for your favourite podcasting power trio. From getting dumped to car crashes and hospital visits, we've got it all. One thing is for sure, it's never dull in our world.
We move on from our disastrous start to the year and talk about the ultimate New Year's Eve dilemma - Sam Ryder or Jools Holland. Has Sam "dethroned" Jools to become the "new king" of New Year's Eve entertainment? Tom is a thougrouly paid-up member of team Sam while Alex leans towards team Jools Holland, and Joe is just unimpressed with the lot. We also talk about how Sam (or more accurately, we as a nation) got robbed of Eurovision glory last year because as we all know, we really should have won it.
Our much cherished and loved quiz returns with a set of questions that focus on some of the major upcoming events taking place throughout 2023 before we wrap up the show and talk about the plight of Everton FC, the very dodgy dealings of Farhad Moshiri and Alisher Usmanov, and the 4th round FA cup tie taking place between Walsall Fc and Leicester City FC.
