Creative inspiration every week!
I love Notes on Your Notes. Every week, there’s another gem about the creative process and storytelling. Whether I’m wanting to know how to deal with a fallow season in my creative life, how to write a compelling antagonist, or creating tension in a storyline, Joshua and Adam have the answers. I always come away with something of value that I could use to move my own work forward. Highly recommended!

Chime
Creative people so often don’t have the opportunity to simply talk about the nite and bolts of creativity and this helps fill that void.
I know it’s a good podcast when I find myself wanting to chime into the dialogue and ask questions or give my penny’s worth.

Really grounding!
I really get ton's out of these two. They're a perfectly matched duo. They both strike me as very different and at the same time their differences really deepen the conversation on process, and beinag a creative artist.

Great conversations!
This podcast is not just for writers...as a musician, I found a lot of inspiration and information about the creative process. There is a fantastic rapport between the two hosts, just a super fun and informative podcast!

Opening Possibilities, Moving Forward
Lots of deep thinking and compassion here for the artist! Really was helped by the Discipline episodes (Both short & long versions of Nov. 2017) - especially the idea that "simply" being self-aware is the basis of discipline. And I get insights on the culture du jour - like our penchant for episodic shows mirrors the “episodes” we’re immersed in on social media. Bottom line is I feel both respected and challenged to grow; well worth investing my listening ear here.

Enlightening listen
“Notes on Your Notes” breaks down the creative process in a way I haven’t heard before. It’s apparent to me the hosts have a lifetime of experience in this field to draw upon. I am looking forward to continuing to listen and will be passing it along to my entertainment industry oriented friends.

Two Non-Bros...
But authentic men, speaking from their heart, sharing their passion for and tips about art. Specifically writing and performing, but a lot of what they offer applies to many mediums. A sweet listen.

Adam and Joshua are like my best friends of decades---always reliable to have the Full Conversation. Funny, insightful and with a creative flow they engage the eternal questions of artists sharing their very smart reflections and perspectives. Worth listening to for sure!

Perfectionism
I was struggling with writing about my rogue character Francesca, and the insight Adam and Joshua offered up on their podcast on the dark and light side of perfectionism was deeply insightful, very helpful - thanks guys.

Demystifying the Character Driven Story
Joshua and Adam really get into the heart of the matter when it comes to connecting actions and atmosphere to your character's reactions in "Emojis aren't Emotions". Their banter is just perfect to keep you engaged and not overwhelmed or hear too much blah-blah-blah. Coolest eavesdropping I've listened to in a long while. :-) (<-emoji-pun intended). And you'll learn about some of the weird and quirky, like, uhhh, a forest bath?

Wow!
A real podcasts with real creative people illuminating what brings them to, and what they receive (and we can receive) from the artistic process. Fantastic beginning! Sooo looking forward to the funny, deep, and inspiring episodes to come!

Enjoy. Gimme More.
Three things I like:
1) It is an interesting conversation with practical advice without being preachy. It feels like we are on the journey with them as they figure it out
2) Their voices have a sensuousness that feels like I am back in my gimp days wearing a rubber suit leaving me all tingly in my nether regions
3) There is a clear rapport and humor that feels like I am eavesdropping on a very smart chat between two pals rather than a performance that makes me aware of being in the audience.

So Sweet
It's really sweet to hear 2 guys, who have a relaxed, supportive and "deep" (they keep saying "deep") repartee with each other, equating creative projects with girlfriend relationships. Their voices are very soothing and listening to them spin off and then get back on point is quite delightful. i'm looking forward to more. I like the 'let your choice choose you' point of view.

Better the thumb of a giant than the arm of a dwarf
It's ambitious to think I might want to listen in on two friends ruminating about life. These guys are clever without trying to be. I like the sound of their voices but it's the ineffable chemistry of their friendship that is winning me over.
