Good Energy
Adore this podcast. There’s wisdom I take away from each episode, the conversations are always thought provoking and I love the self awareness both Ali and Taimur have. Lots of depth to their conversations but also plenty of laughs. It’s a good time. Highly recommend. I’m a nature loving, holistic nutritionist living in California, not a tech bro, but somehow this podcast lands.

When is the next podcast? Can’t wait.
I have been a regular listener of the podcast for over 2 years now. I started my journey working as an Engineer in Tech and have been focusing on improving my life and part of it was productivity, that is how I first came across Ali. Ali has been extremely influential ever since. Love the insights on extremely random topics at times but learn something new from every episode. Maybe work on the titles a bit? Sometimes I am hesitant before clicking on an episode, but the content is always worth it, regardless of what topic it is. Thank you for everything so far and looking forward to the next podcast :)

Like sitting at dinner with the most interesting friends
I love this podcast. Why only 4 stars? To be fair, I don’t know if many would feel the same because this podcast is so niche. With that out of the way, I love being a fly on the wall why these guys discuss so many of the crazy things I love to dwell on. I feel like I am there and they are my friends. For some reason, this is comforting. I get smarter just being around them. It’s one way I can get to the five friends that I would want to reflect who I want to be. Which is interesting because I am probably twice their age. Please keep it up my internet friends.

Love this pod :)
Probably one of my favorite podcasts to listen to while on a walk or cleaning up. I love hearing you guys’ viewpoints on work and life, and I really like how you two aren’t afraid to challenge each other’s decisions, which makes for very enticing conversation. I especially like how you tend to keep it civil and respectful, which is a problem other podcasts that do the same thing seem to fail at. Keep up the consistency, I’m excited for season 2!

A little more effort couldn’t hurt.
I love this podcast. I also feel as though a little more effort could go into the planning. I realize this is a side hobby for both host but that’s just my opinion. Also, after listening to the last episode I appreciate Ali trying to get taimur to be more open. I think their openness is what makes me want to listen over other podcast. So I appreciate what you guys share. Keep up the great work

Season two!
The comfortable and seemingly intellectual banter is incredibly engaging ;) Their steeze(style & ease) within their own realms of knowledge and experience captivate my attention. I am excited for the return of my favorite podcasting duo! I can’t wait to make this podcast a part of my regular listening once again.

Chill Vibes
I am a fan of this podcast. They don’t take themselves too seriously and simply have a chat. I do wish they were a bit more consistent, though. Love from The States. Cheers.

Really enjoy this podcast
This podcast has been very fun to listen too. Really enjoy the topics and have gotten a lot of good book recommendations from listening to you both. I also enjoy just the banter and the sincerity coming from you both on random topics. I don’t work in tech or medicine, I work in the construction industry. Im also based in the US and married with two kids. So it’s kind of goofy listening to this podcast. Hope you guys put more good content out!

Mate - What an excellent pod!
I listen to this podcast multiple times daily and found myself binging all of the episodes more than once. Their content is novel, engaging, tangible, and relatable on so many levels (as a fellow brown man with a doctorate). I originally found their earlier episodes more novel - like the one on Transactional Analysis. I also like how they create their own metrics - like “high measure” items and the impact they have on quality of life. Ali is so inspiring that I created my own podcast, wrote my own book, and created a blog site to start creating an audience of my own. Now all I have to do is create a YouTube channel/TikTok and the trifecta will be complete. Keep up the great work, and please post more content or I will have to just listen to every episode of Deep Dive 17 times each.

Love the content
Really great conversation and thought provoking topics. I feel like I learn something new every time I listen and it helps keep my mind sharp and engaged while I’m doing other tasks. One suggestion I do have though is to be mindful of vocal fry, it is very pronounced in the audio especially if you are speaking slowly or in a monotone. I still love the podcast! Just wanted to give a heads up.

The Not Overthinking Podcast is hysterical, witty, and thought provoking. As soon as a new episode is released I drop everything to listen as it’s always informative and entertaining. Keep up the great work!

podcasts really BORE me to tears actually.
hi ali and taimur! how the fudge are ya?! this is a pretty stupid review because i've never actually "listened" to the podcast on here or on any other podcast site, but i discovered it on y.t. like a week ago and once i realized i can watch at 1.5x speed, i've watched SO MANY episodes! you guys basically have become my brown cousins through marriage twice removed, in my head. (i’m a brown-skinned black person so that's ok for me to say.) haha. *tears laughing emoji* also someone commented about your laugh "not being meant for recording," taimur, but i think your laugh is hilarious and my FAV! you should laugh even louder for that person. also you're quite the comedian taimur. you too ali! i almost swallowed my water poorly at like 5 am from laughing at something ali said yesterday. btw, podcasts actually BORE me to tears but not overthinking (the video version) is quite lovely! sorry for the long review. just thought i should leave one since i've been slightly obsessed with the vid pod on y.t. ok bye! or cheerio! however you folks in england say it. i'm a silly american. (clearly) - Jamie p.s. i strongly dislike emotions but i must say, ali and taimur, you guys have really made my heart happy in a time where i’m going through some not so great stuff. keep being yourselves. it’s quite the breath of fresh air! truly! <3

You guys talk about productivity and hustle culture in such a thoughtful way. As someone who has to balance wanting to do a lot and wanting to do great things with a mental illness that makes being overwhelmed very easy and detrimental to my life, I appreciate your (healthy) analysis of productivity, productivity culture, etc. Also your honesty about your opinions on things like online/app dating absolutely send me, and I love and appreciate it so much. The Mere Exposure Effect
I used to listen to this podcast every week it came out during my long NYC-BOS car rides. The episodes were perfect as I felt like a fly on the wall between an intellectual discussion between two seemingly inquisitive brothers, thus I thoroughly enjoyed it. However now I have found myself caring less and less when episodes come out. After some reflection on this phenomenon I believe this is due to the reverse of the Mere Exposure Effect. Their wildly inconsistent upload schedule combined with the fact the episodes are getting shorter and shorter (hasn’t been one over an hour in a while) has led to less on an interest of my end. Plz make a consistent schedule for the audience and your own sake <3

Taimur’s Laugh
This podcast is alright. There’s really great nuggets of information but I find myself skipping through a big portion of it. And Taimur’s laugh is not meant for recording. I feel like I have this kid squealing and gasping for air in my ear when he laughs. He needs to be conscious that people have to listen to it.

Don’t bother leaving an audio message
I quite like the Not Overthinking podcast. The way the brothers discuss each thought provoking topic with each other is unlike any dialogue I have heard on a podcast before. I especially like how Ali and Taimur speak to each other instead of speaking (and ranting to) the audience directly. This laid back approach makes the listener feel more comfortable, like a fly on the wall. Mixed with the banter and lighthearted jabs, the listening experience is really fun! My only bone to pick is that they have not once played a listener’s audio message during the show. At the end of every episode, they ask us to submit an audio message to serve as the “springboard for a discussion.” However, I have never heard one of these voice messages played. This feels problematic to me. Other than that I love the show. I’ll catch you next week... or maybe month... or maybe next year. I suppose we’ll see.

Least consistent podcast I have ever listened to
I have been a long time listener to this podcast and have always appreciated the conversations these two brothers have. Prior to the summer they were a consistent highlight of my week and I always tuned in. Recently they have struggled putting out episodes on a regular basis making the experience of waiting for the next episode frustrating. The irony is they have both preached about how consistency has been such a "super power" in their lives, yet do not apply this to the podcast. Worth a listen when the episodes come out.

Ali, Ali, Ali…
Let me start by saying that I am a subscriber to your YouTube channels, Ali, and I am a fan of your work. However, after listening to you speak about your worries and strategy for online dating… I just want to shake you (with loving concern/frustration). Please consider these thoughts from a (happily married) woman who wants to see you find love and happiness: 1) Cultivate a new mindset about the women on your apps when it comes to ranking them. Think of them *all* as people deserving of affection, love, and attention. Ranking them (I can only assume according to how they look) is not only offensive to all women (including the “top 10%”), but it’s a turnoff and red flag. We can sniff out the men who think this way like hound dogs on the scent of a fox. Root out this mindset as much as you are able. 2) Online dating is not a competition with other men. It’s really not. Instead of trying to be the most interesting and entertaining guy on the app, think instead about how you can be the kindest, wisest, most confident (without being arrogant), most thoughtful version of *yourself*. 3) One way you can show that you’re a kind, wise, thoughtful man is to cultivate GENUINE CURIOSITY about the women with whom you’re speaking (be it online or in person). Don’t ask a question that you don’t care about the answer to (e.g. “how was your weekend?”). Ask questions you actually want to know the answer to (only you can know what those might be). Don’t be afraid to ask big questions, or personal questions…women like answering those. Women want to talk to men who like hearing what they have to say. If you start asking *real* questions, they’ll be so busy answering (and enjoying speaking their minds and hearts), they’ll be eager to meet and talk more…and you won’t have to entertain them.

I’m worried, so here’s a pizza recipe.
Hello, I am worried about y’all’s malnutrition as you seem to be working 18 hours a day. This is the very reason why I decided to add in a basic pizza recipe. I suggest starting off with the yeast, take one full packet and use one and one thirds of a cup of water. Make sure the water is between 100 and 110 degrees Fahrenheit. Add in unbleached all purpose flour, favourably three and one half a cup. Hand mix. Put the dough into a GREASY and LUBRICATED bowl, make the bowl oily by using extra virgin olive oil. Set aside into a fridge overnight. Go hand out with some mates and get stoned at your local Red Lion or Royal Oak. Wake up at 3 pm and poke out the air bubbles in the dough. Split into two. Spread out into a 10-12 inch disc. Keep in mind that it must be a disc and not a circle as a disc is filled out on the inside and a circle is solely the outline of a disc. Add the pizza sauce of your choice, or make your own if you’ve got time to waste. Add your favourite pizza toppings. If you enjoy pineapple on pizza you should contact a medical professional immediately. Bake at a very high temperature for ~15 minutes.

Wework noobs
Love the podcast but you guys are wework noobs. If you have x amount of friends you can get x amount of free months trials. What you can do is that each month another person applies for the free trial. Then you can bring all your friends into the conference room. For the 4 months that I was in San Fransisco this is what me and my uni friends did. Each Month a few of us would have free trial cards to get the others in. Dozens of students got access, milked the free drinks and never paid a dime. You can also make another card if you use another email address and ID card. Don’t waste money

Thought-provoking, funny, real.
I love this podcast. Very rare to have deep conversations such as these irl, but even rarer to come across on a podcast. I listen to Ali and Taimur (and guests) and then talk through their ideas with various people in my life, which inevitably leads to more of these sought-after conversations. I don’t think this podcast is for everyone but I also think that’s why it’s good. Thanks and keep it up!

My favorite wasteman pod
Was on the pod once and it was grand. I challenged Ali to take a week off from YouTube and I think he actually increased his output after our chat. Incredible. Now to listen to the pod Taimur makes me message him every time I hear his voice. Quite needy but worth the price. Good pod.

It’s like the title is the opposite of what is actually happening, no way!
I’d been watching Ali for a while before I found this podcast, I’d watched his skillshare classes and was reminded of the fact to make my interests align with my consumption. This podcast is great to get away from that “productivity” scene and started me on a journey through philosophy (continuing through stoicism since his skillshare class which changed my life) love the free deep dives too.

Love this
Such a pleasant and enjoyable podcast to listen to while I work. The content is thought provoking, but not overwhelming where I feel like I’m “over thinking” it haha :). This is also my first time leaving a review for a podcast ever so it means a lot! Keep it up Ali and Taimur!

Like chatting with friends
My favorite podcast by far. These two have excellent dialogue, however, the quality of episodes fluctuates quite a bit depending on how much structure they try to add. Basically, the more structured they make an episode, the worse it is typically. The episode about Haidt’s “The Righteous Mind,” which was highly structured, cured my insomnia. Meanwhile, the previous episode in which they rambled on about thinkboi-ism and basically just bantered for an hour was marvelous—like hanging out with some friends. (The one exception to this was Taimur’s discussion of transactional analysis, but even then it was truly quite loosely structured.) Definitely give this podcast a listen, but avoid the book reviews. Ali, please house all the ‘productivity’ swill on your YouTube channel—if people care about it they can and will find you there. But keep the podcast as informal as a chat with ~the boys~

My favorite podcast
This is my favorite podcast to listen to every week. I learn a lot about productivity, philosophy, mental frameworks, creativity, and other things about the human condition. Something that I believe would make this podcast more interesting, at least for me, is what you described in a recent podcast about having strong beliefs and committing to them. I believe this podcast would be more interesting if you took strong opinions on things and tried to argue their case for them rather then having a discussion where you tip toe around each point. I know this can lead to some backlash for you, such as people calling you misogynistic when you have a belief about women (although I don’t agree with that), but I hope you can still do this.

Thoughtful, insightful, and...
Pompous. Man these guys are pompous. You can tell they are a couple of Upperclass Lads from the UK. Born into privilege may be an assumption but perhaps a correct one. People of their ethnicity in the UK do not end up so highly educated and with secure employment without coming from means. Infantile takes about the opposite sex are abound when the topic of dating or women in general is brought up. Perhaps it is an age issue? This comes off as misogynistic although I do not think they are intentionally being misogynistic. Other than the annoying pompousness these two leak without realizing it, the podcast is thoroughly enjoyable and a must listen. If you are into gathering insight into the human condition, frameworks, and philosophical pondering.

Episodes #89 & #90
I almost shut this episode (#90) down several times — at first because Neel sounds like a 14 year old valley girl, then when Neel started contradicting himself, and finally because I realized that what I was ultimately getting was fundamental productivity advice and career “insights” from a man child who has never had a career and has a dating application on his blog. What even is this episode?! I could not agree more with the review you read at the end of this episode — I nearly turned off the last episode, too. Beyond the blatant doubling down on misogyny and privilege throughout, there were also moments when the approach to argument was shoddy. How do you DEMAND a common definition of the word ‘generally’ (that is, your definition of the word) but then not only gloss over but demand to barrel past developing a common definition of ‘misogyny’?!? It’s literally the topic of the show... I came to this podcast through Ali’s YouTube channel and really enjoyed the first 10 episodes or so that I listened to — it feels like I’m sitting around with some of my best guy friends from high school and college. But these last two episodes were rough. As I’ve watched the last couple videos from Ali, the experiences of listening to the podcast have tinged my ability to enjoy the videos in the same way (like I’ve peeked behind some curtain).

So glad Sheen came on
I’m a med student in the US, and have been a long time listener of you guys’ podcast. To be completely honest, I was getting a little tired of Ali often speaking defensively about his arguments/ideas and Taimur going along with it, when clearly there were rooms for conversation. And given Ali and Taimur, you guys both share similar background and upbringing, the podcast felt and feels ‘claustrophobic’ at times. Hence why I was really glad to hear Sheen on the podcast. Thanks you guys for inviting her on the podcast. Looking forward to hearing more guests/other opinions on the podcast. All the best, Jane

Sunday talk
Love your brotherly relationship. I think sometimes people forget that you two are simply brothers talking about life as you see it as you are now. If you look at numerology, people have different personalities and propensity to act. I recall my sister lecturing me on my “rash” actions to just pickup and go, but I’ve lived a fun life doing everything I wanted and not failing miserably. Personally, I kind of sense Ali’s quest for what’s next. When working in China, I had the feeling. I was getting promoted. I was very comfortable. And I saw a 10, 20 year future... that I wanted more from. In Tony Robbin’s term, I cared for variety and growth more than certainty. I think Ali’s wish to go the US is a great idea! Like the YES theory, you don’t know what will happen! If you did, then it’s not much of a “challenge” (chance to grow) is it? I also think that 2 weeks in a foreign is plenty. People are the same everywhere, they love and love to be loved. Perspectives are different, but I find that more meaning comes out of working together than just casual hangout. 2 weeks was enough for me to get a sense of what a place is like. That’s different than whether I want to live there, and build a family, or meet my future wife. :) love your shows. And I do resonate with Ali’s way of thinking more, so take my opinions with its weight. Thank you Charles

“Not Over Thinking” 😐
Leaving a review was as easy as you said 😂 Your guys banter is my favorite way to not over think when I’m starting too 👌 Keep chugging along and know I’ll always be a supporting fan of you guys! Also the support of a women in your podcast just adds curtain touch to the videos! Speaking from the perspective of a married man who needs the input of my wife on everything.

Fantastic starter podcast
Hi Taimur and Ali, How are you guys? This is the first podcast I ever heard in my life. I feel bad that I did not start doing this way early. I love my drive to work these days because of you guys. But, I found that the earlier episodes to be way better in quality of content than the recent ones. I think it might be because of the lack of preparation from Ali. Lol! Please take care of that. If you still wonder why I am giving 5 star, I can tell you why. Listening to you guys’s podcast on productivity 3 months ago provided me with so much of confidence and I recently obtained the exact job I wanted. You guys changed my life. Like Taimur, I also have started reading more books and changed persectives to other commarades. Thank you for that! I hope you guys keep up the great work! Looking forward to more outstanding episodes! Amal

Insightful Conversations. Great Stuff!
Love the podcast. You guys provide many relatable insights and the banter is hilarious. It does seems like the microphone turns off a little bit too often, but it’s always a funny moment when one of you realizes it’s not recording. Keep up the good work!

Listen up!!
These podcasts are just fantastic. Thank you guys for taking the time out of your week to share them. They are right there are so many bozos and morons out there who don’t think about things enough. Juuust kidding. Would like to mention Ali’s YouTube channel also comes with the highest recommendation to one and all. If you haven’t seen his video about ‘Notion’ it has changed my life, for the better of course. Be sure to check it out. Guys, if there is ever the chance, would love to hear how your mother Mimi raised such thoughtful, kind gentleman. Is there anything you believe she valued or did differently to other mothers that really helped you along the way? Was she a helicopter parent or were you left to your ‘devices’, so to speak? Bravo to Mimi. Do you have any tips on how you plan to parent your future children? In other news, just signed up to the Skillshare classes and am very excited about this development, mainly to check out Ali’s productivity workshop class that sounded good.

Improved my quarantine by over 9000
I discovered this podcast from Ali’s YouTube channel. It makes a great companion for when I’m grinding through schoolwork, and a lot of what they discuss is strangely prophetic of my experiences as a college freshman. The guests are also great; the one on the motivation and complaining episode (Callum?) talked about week 5 blues and the days suddenly getting longer right as I hit week 5 and started experiencing the same things. Great way to process my own stresses and feelings, and it’s been very interesting to see how similarly most people experience things. Great job guys!

My Favourite Podcast!
As someone who thinks deeply about almost everything, I really enjoy listening to this podcast. Taimur, the thought leader, always brings the substance, whereas Ali brings the practicality and the real world application. The brothers really complement each other, and it makes for the perfect balance. My favourite part of every episode is when Taimur says “that’s deeply problematic man”. The occasional guests also keep the podcast fresh, and I love the casual conversation format. The only feedback I have is that the production quality can be better sometimes. Keep doing what you are doing, and I look forward to more episodes!

A welcome break in my day
I discovered ‘Not Overthinking’ after hearing about it in one of Ali’s YouTube videos with Taimur. While the titles are not of the clickbait type, I have been pleasantly surprised by the high quality of these episodes, which have been a combination of relaxing and thought-provoking, with a dash of humor. Thanks to ‘Not Overthinking,’ I believe I have become one those “podcast people” - which is great because I can list it as one of my hobbies and therefore increase my prestige among my peers (jk on the latter part). But in all seriousness, thank you so much to you both for keeping me sane during this pandemic, and keep up with the great work.

11/10 worth catching up to!
I started listening to you guys 3 weeks ago and just finished listening to your Principles of Productivity episode. I relate when people say your podcast has changed our lives but mostly because I find that the ideas or concepts you guys discuss are things I’ve thought about but haven’t been able to properly articulate or solidify! I love the balance between banter and insight that comes with each episode and I look forward to finally finishing the backlog of episodes I have yet to listen to. Just want to thank you guys too for recommending The Courage to be Disliked — its been a great read and super helpful with my social anxiety. Stay safe!

Taimur's Laugh
I just love that ya'll combine humor and deep thought. But I think I knew it was going to be a great listen when I got to the part where Taimur described his envy about Ali's magic, I don't know, that just got me, such a sibling thing.

Quality went over a Cliff
A solid effort overall lads but I had to skip through bits to give my face a rest from cringing at the pompous arrogance of the guest Cliff Weitzman. Unrelated but after looking up his product Speechify, why is all the YouTube content I could find about it from his own channel? Do I have a new internet nemesis? Avid listener to the pod so I will continue to listen to new eps.

The most insightful podcast I’ve heard ever
I’ve been listening for a few months now and I just want to say Ali and Taimur are both some of the most influential people with a presence online. Every week is a new topic that they deeply analyze and explore. I have learned so much from this podcast and find myself agreeing with what is being said and realizing I’ve always thought in the same manner but never thought about it. I love listening to this podcast when I go for long runs as it lets me dive deep into a new realm inside my head. Ali is always great, but I wish Taimur would start a YouTube channel as he always has great things to say and I’d love to hear more of him outside of this podcast. Thank you guys.
