Curiosity jack of all trades
David’s natural curiosity and energizer bunny energy make each episode interesting and a joy to listen to. I’m amazed by how he can go down unusual rabbit holes with some of the worlds best thinkers. I recommend starting with the Tyler Cowen episode.

Excellent questions and guests
David asks insightful questions, then cultivates a void for the guests to fill. This allows for longform discussions and depth.
I’m tearing through these episodes!

The Polaris of Podcasts
Like the true North Star, Polaris, this podcast by David gives essential guidance to all its listeners. I especially enjoy the interviews with such a wide spectrum of guests from Rabbis, to baseball players, to entrepreneurs. Very few podcasts can boast of such great diverse, content.

Great Guests
Great guests, but David seems to be trying a little too hard to make them think he is smart.

Host is irritating
I was looking forward to hearing from Austin Rief and Alex Lieberman and how they build Morning Brew. Instead it was the host pontificating on a bunch of irrelevant topics. Waste of time.

Ridiculous Host
The host David Perell is completely ridiculous. In his interview with the Matt Cooper on May 18, 2020 he states “most of the business that were there were definitely “not American because half of them had accents” (46:00). Having an accent does not mean you are not “American” you WASPy idiot! The original languages of this land are Indigenous so don’t act like your colonizing self even knows the original language of the land you’re on. At 56:00 he claims that the original purpose of Harvard was to Christianize others. That is half true. Harvard was originally built to assimilate and eradicate the Indigenous stolen children of this country. And for you to suggest that we should maybe go back to that purpose is to support cultural genocide, racism, and every other colonial agenda marker you can think of. This is embarrassing that you even have a platform to stand on. Go educate yourself colonizer.

David has become a must-listen
The North Star podcast, and host, David Perrell, are so insightful. David brings such a unique perspective and asks really thought-provoking questions during conversations that have me thinking long after the episodes are over. He’s building something unique with stories of the past, smart thinkers and executors of the present, and discussions of the future. David is well-researched and his guests are some of the best and brightest. Also, I’m trying to become a better writer and he is helping, so Thank YOU, David.

David is thoughtless and irritating
I wish there was a way to automatically skip when David starts talking. Just ask the questions. Don’t pontificate. I’m listening to the podcast for your guest, not you.

Must listen for anyone looking to level up
Wow. This show has become one of my go-tos for inspiration, insight and mind-expanding perspectives that help open up new possibilities in life. David does an incredible job of bridging his knowledge and insight with that of his guests and really creates an environment that allows for unique ideas to come to life. Highly recommend North Star if you want to level up (or are stuck) in any area of life! Thanks for bringing this show to the world David!

Love to soak up the wisdom
Honestly, I listen to a lot of podcasts. But David is a cut above the rest.
The variety of his guests is breathtaking and he goes deeper on topics than everyone else.
Worth a listen.

Thank you
This review is a thank you note to David and his guests for changing the course of my life for the better. Before I became a regular listener, I felt unmotivated and uninspired. After listening to the podcast in my car over the past year, my mental state has completely changed. You’ll notice that David and his guests are rationally optimistic, excited for the future, unafraid of risk, and genuinely curious about everything. After internalizing this content, my mindset on myself and the world is so much healthier and my life is better for it. Thank you!

In a sea of podcasts this is the narwhal
Consistently interesting and if when there are guests I disagree with I learn something I likely would have missed.

Great questions
Super interesting podcast with a wide range of guests with the overarching theme of Where are we headed? David dives deeper in the right places, shares his own point of view an appropriate percentage of the time, and lets his guests shine. Cheers
