Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) encourages people to embrace their thoughts and feelings rather than fighting or feeling guilty for them.
We are joined by Janne Spaan who is a BA Social Work, ACT Counsellor and a Relationship Therapist.
She helped us understand what ACT is and the pillars of ACT are. We also discuss how ACT isn’t just a therapy tool but also a lifestyle and a self-practice tool that can help you so much in being confident and accepting your faults and turning them into power.
During the conversation we also provide you with some practice tips you can do by yourself.

Anger is a completely normal, usually healthy, human emotion. But when it gets out of control and turns destructive, it can lead to problems problems at work, in your personal relationships, and in the overall quality of your life. And it can make you feel as though you're at the mercy of an unpredictable and powerful emotion.
Anger is "an emotional state that varies in intensity from mild irritation to intense fury and rage. The instinctive, natural way to express anger is to respond aggressively. Anger is a natural, adaptive response to threats; it inspires powerful, often aggressive, feelings and behaviors, which allow us to fight and to defend ourselves when we are attacked. A certain amount of anger, therefore, is necessary to our survival.
In todays episode we will provide you tips on better identifying the underlying emotion of anger.
The three main approaches are expressing, suppressing, and calming. Expressing your angry feelings in an assertive, not aggressive, manner is the healthiest way to express anger. To do this, you have to learn how to make clear what your needs are, and how to get them met, without hurting others. Being assertive doesn't mean being pushy or demanding; it means being respectful of yourself and others.

Effective communication is about more than just exchanging information. It’s about understanding the emotion and intentions behind the information. As well as being able to clearly convey a message, you need to also listen in a way that gains the full meaning of what’s being said and makes the other person feel heard and understood.
Effective communication sounds like it should be instinctive. But all too often, when we try to communicate with others something goes astray. We say one thing, the other person hears something else, and misunderstandings, frustration, and conflicts ensue. This can cause problems in your home, school, and work relationships.
For many of us, communicating more clearly and effectively requires learning some important skills. Whether you’re trying to improve communication with your spouse, kids, boss, or coworkers, learning these skills can deepen your connections to others, build greater trust and respect, and improve teamwork, problem solving, and your overall social and emotional health.
In todays episode we will discuss the role of a speaker and listener, the key component to being a good speaker and a good listener. What is active listening, body language and more.

Lacking of mental health support, too many Cambodian women experience emotional crises as they navigate contemporary motherhood.
Motherhood taps out women’s depleted psychological resources, making them especially susceptible to mental health issues. Many moms don’t have the time or energy to understand why they feel so awful. As a result, they internalize their feelings and do the best they can, day after day.
Did you know that depression and anxiety affect one in seven women during the perinatal period, and are associated with increased risk of preterm delivery, reduced mother-infant bonding, and delays in cognitive/emotional development of the infant.
We are so excited to welcome two incredible women who are supporting the strong moms and moms to be in Cambodia.
Moonique and Molenna are the founders of In The PINK. PINK” is an independent digital campaign that seeks to raise awareness of conceivably life-threatening warning signs during and after pregnancy and improve communication between women and their companions.
In todays episode, we will hear how PINK is supporting women and the educational programs they run as they support and contribute to the Cambodian community.

In today's episode we are blessed with a story of courage, loss, rebirth and healing. We are joined by Sreynoch, from Untangle: A Mental Health Project, who opens up to us about a dark part of her past.
She opens up about losing purpose in her life where she felt lost and did not know who she was. So many teenagers are struggling to realize who they are and sadly never realize their worth and and a few end up giving up on life and taking their own lives.
Noch shares her story how she pulled herself back out of that dark place through self-care, self-love and surrounding herself with good friends, building a support system and reaching out for help.
That is why Noch decided to join Untangle, to raise awareness on mental health and mental health issues, letting the world know that mental illness is real and that you are not alone.
Sometimes things can seem overwhelming, and it can feel like you can’t cope. You may simply just be having a bad day, or you may have an ongoing mental health problem that needs support. The important thing is not to try to cope on your own.
When you’re struggling, it’s not good to spend too much time alone, especially if you are feeling low and vulnerable. It’s at times like these that you need to be able to talk to someone. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.
