I just adore this podcast. Somehow they keep all the topics light yet respectful, from Keep Canada Weird to true crime and even the global animal uprising! Canadian Gothic has also presented the single best coverage of the case of the missing children Jack and Lily Sullivan to date. I’m addicted to Cove soda thanks to this podcast. Keep it up! Can’t wait till episode 307, the area code for the entire state of Wyoming.

Jordan, you & Aaron are ☠️ing me with Keep Canada Weird!!! I’ve listened to your crime episodes since I found you through Dark Poutine. The first episode I listened to was the Nova Scotia shooting massacre. I’ve listened to all the crime & interview episodes since then, but didn’t partake of the Weird ones until a couple years ago. Oh my, it’s like finding a chest of gold at the end of a rainbow. I wish I could get out of the house more so I could be a foreign correspondent. I also really need stickers, but my voice is gnarly & I’m not sure what I would say. Anyway, until next time. The Canadian Gothic covers many interesting stories and topics from true crime to UAPs. It’s a great listen!

I’m an American and I never miss this podcast. It’s a great escape from the embarrassment of America in the 2020s. Jordan has a great podcast voice, knows how to tell a story, and has a great sense of humor. His regular cohosts Aaron and Madelayne are wonderful as well, offering humorous commentary and interesting insights. I’ve learned a lot listening to this podcast, too. Interesting variety of topics, anything from food, Tim Hortons, different sodas I’d never heard of, and Jordan‘s trips to various stores I’ve never heard of on his Instagram, to serious news stories. Highly recommend!

Bad News Canada is an awful addition to the other great shows in Canadian Gothic! Just listened to the first episode and it was horrible!

Have listened for years but the show is just not good anymore. Drifted from its original premise and is boring now. Unfollowing.

Fridays are great because of Jordan and Aaron, I look forward to listening every week. They always have great story's to discuss and sometimes even some great jokes thrown in!!!

I adore all things Canadian Gothic. Keep Canada Weird, Encounters with Creeps and all the special episodes Jordan creates are always worth listening to.

Wow. First ten minutes of episode 1 — narrator is stumbling around trying to express how devastating the crime was, when he clearly can’t. Just get on with the story! “I can’t believe how terrible this was” “I’ve never heard of these towns” “I’m from here” This isn’t about you. Please don’t do a report when you’re traumatized, and the whole story isn’t yet known. Also, refusing to use Wortman’s name makes for a really awkward listening experience. I’m just sitting here hoping the piece will smooth out... ugh. Well it didn’t. By Part two the narrative was still grasping and fumbling and the pace is agonizing. I’m canning the Massacre piece. I will try another piece before unsubscribing. Well, I came back and tried the Sullivan piece, with no better experience. Episodes 1 through 3 and the bonus, I could make it no further, there’s way too much regurgitation of information! Every piece of information is repeated, two, three times. It’s maddening. The bonus episode seems to just repeat everything contained in 1 - 3. Nothing moves the story forward.

Jordan, soothing voice and kind demeanor are always delightful to hear, no matter the topic. His episodes are well researched, thoughtful, and sensitive. One of my forever favorites.

I am overwhelmed with appreciation of the coverage of Lilly and Jack’s disappearance. I will request my 14 year old daughter listen and friends and family. Misinformation is so pervasive. This podcast addresses the problem succinctly. Thank you!

I want to love this show. Jordan seems like a decent human, but he doesn’t call his guests out on their terribly bigoted opinions, and he doesn’t give trigger warnings when discussing SA, which is low grade unacceptable in 2024. I desperately want to give this show a 5-star rating because I LOVE the Encounters with Creeps series (though I do recommend Jordan and Madelayne take sensitivity training if they’re going to be discussing SA). But unfortunately this is more a 2.5 stars podcast, entirely due to Paul Palango. He’s such a creepy bigot, it makes me want to scream. Take your trashy 1950s opinions and exit stage right, Paul. Being in journalism for a billion years doesn’t make you a) a good person, nor b) right about everything. Jordan does his whole show and his listeners a disservice by platforming someone so gross as Paul Palango. More Encounter with Creeps, less platforming creeps!!

I found this podcast from listening to Morbid on the glove man story. I just knew I had to follow this podcast and listen every week. I can’t get enough! Great podcast!!!

I love this podcast when it’s just Jordan or Jordan and a family member. Madelayne does not add anything of substance. I find myself cringing at her “takes” on the cases. The re-airing of The Glove Guy series is indicative. She found the whole thing funny and “weird” instead of predatory and hazardous even after a victim had described how he had been hurt. Also: With Madelayne, there’s so much boring talk about the weather or if she’s heard of the town the case happened in. I have to skip multiple minutes in to get to the case-passing over anecdotes about cats and her views on TikTok. Who cares? Please go back to the old format and get rid of Madelayne. Her relationship with the cases has a gross air to me. Her connection (however minuscule) to the case/location feels more important to her than the fact that a human being was hurt.

Really crass and cringy how they laugh about glove guy an episode after a victim describes how awful the experience was for him.

Particularly in the Murder of Nurse Lori case. So much was excluded that mattered.

I’ve been a long time on and off listener (I cycle through and swap out my regulars frequently). I got hooked during the Emma Fillipoff series. I’m in the US so these stories are usually new to me. My two “cons” are 1) Madalayne’s strong opinions- and I could be reading it wrong but I feel like Jordan is constantly having to redirect to keep her from offending people when she’s throwing them around and 2) the titles of the episodes are messy and overwhelming. Without better organization and/or numbering, it’s kind of hard to tell which episodes are parts of a series without digging around. I love the Encounter with a Creep episodes! I’m constantly making notes to myself of things to talk to my kids about so that they can react appropriately to creeps at any age! Keep up the good work.

Even though I’m in Texas, it’s fascinating to learn random things about Canada through this podcast. I listen during the day but every night I turn on a replay of Aaron Airport episodes as the banter between the two of you makes me feel like I’m falling asleep listening to friends. Lol

I have no idea how I stumbled upon this podcast a few years ago but I am glad I did! I love the expansion with episodes of keep Canada weird and Canadian gothic!

...and he just keeps getting better and better. I truly hope he is able to be a full time podcaster/interviewer and never has to work a day job again. Fantastic show. What I really dig about this podcast is all the varied content. I enjoy the variety of topics, especially the Encounters with Creeps and Keep Canada weird series.

This show blends several formats and themes, but the reason I listen is because it’s Nighttime. The way Jordan covers topics and brings his personality to the show give it a distinct, chill vibe, and the show’s viewpoint is life-affirming and vital. This show has been around several years now, and I hope its essential voice will be around for many years to come.

I love the podcast when there's variety and canadian history being discussed, but the constant shooting updates are kind of annoying 3 years on.

I’m a U.S. listener who loves Jordan’s voice, delivery and choice of off best topics and appreciate the absence of commercial noise. Also LOVE the jazzy noir theme music, so middle of the night!

I am not from Canada, but love this show. If you are interested in true crime or off the wall things, this is the show for you!

I love this podcast and can’t believe it’s taken me this long to find it. The host has a soothing voice and presents the stories in a way that is interesting and comprehensive. I admired his interviewing style and love his soothing voice. Definitely one to check out if you enjoy first hand narrative interviews.

Really milking this Nova Scotia mass shooting deal. Super boring. Just do it as a new podcast for those who care about it.

Found you through the Morbid gals and I’m already hooked. Started with the Valentines massacre and moving onto more. I’m really impressed by the quality of content and production. You ask great questions and the insight given is very compelling.

Thank Morbid for sending me this way but I can’t get enough. Also the accent is just as good as the podcast <3 it’s always great to learn about true crime in Canada as well. I wish I could give this 20,50 or even 100+ stars.
