Refreshing
The past three years I have been on a new season in my faith. Such a breath of fresh air hearing other people of faith discussing and reflecting in areas Christianity that I have been processing too growing up in a conservative Pentecostal Latino church in Los Angeles. Also a fan of Manwell from back in Group 1 Crew and love Angela J 💯

All the feels!! Every podcast speaks to me! Very few episodes go by without me writing down something one of you said that inspires me. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. 🙏

I really believe I came across this podcast at the exact time in my life that I was supposed to. It’s kind of the strangest thing, most beautiful at the same time. Y’all’s conversations make me feel so seen, heard, and understood. I hope y’all understand the depth of impact y’all’s conversations are actually having. Thanks so much for having the courage to share y’all’s thoughts with the world.

So important.
This show has been a huge source of freedom for me to learn that it’s OKAY to ask questions about your faith—in return I have discovered beautiful truths and created beautiful conversations with loved ones. Please keep the conversations coming…they are of utmost importance!

Honest & Authentic Podcast
Thank you to Manwell, Anjelah, and Brandon for your honesty and authenticity on the podcast. I appreciate how much you all make me think about my walk with God and my faith.

Such a great podcast!
Thanks to Mangelah and B for this authentic podcast! I’ve been listening to you guys for the better part of 2021 and it has been so healing to my own deconstruction season of my faith. Thank you so much for making it normal to talk about and almost taking the words that have been swooshing in my brain out loud. I now feel so much more freedom (instead of shame) for how I view my faith, the questioning I’ve been doing, and relearning Jesus. Keep doing what you’re doing and being you. Appreciate you guys for letting me have a seat at you table. ☺️

Great perspectives
As you listen to these conversations, you feel like you are part of the conversation. They present different perspectives that challenge you (it’s good to be challenged)!

All the Yes!
When I found this podcast I was questioning everything and wondering if there was anyone out there ready to have the hard conversations. You guys do just this. You come to the table ready to talk about real things and you invite Jesus in the mess. I love it. For anyone looking for a real podcast about Jesus, that’s funny, relevant and all around amazing, this is it.
Cre8tivmom84
Love this so much!!!
You guys starting this podcast as soon as I was going through similar spiritual growths and stubbles. You guys are so relatable..!! And make me feel less of a Alien in my faith and belief. In also how I’m feeling about the church, I feel like this is fellowship and when 2 or more gather in his name. I’m here listening to the word. It has made me grow stronger in the belief of God. Thanks so much, Arlee

You are the living Word of God
I began listening to this podcast about a year ago, after hearing Anjelah interviewed by Annie Downs. It’s been 7 or 8 years that I have been actively aware of and involved with looking at all of the information passed along to me through life’s journey. Thank you for helping me to continue to open, listen, and examine those edges that I come up against (like on today’s episode when Anjelah was talking about the experiences she still has when she rubs up against conditioning, those things we adopted and adapted, those conditions we were supposed to meet to be loved. I wanted you to know that a 60 year old listens to you! Not every week, but as often as I can. I was especially happy to hear the discussion about the Bible today, and loved what Manny shared that TD Jakes said. This is hopeful. So hopeful. Not only do we need to disentangle from expectations and judgments that others have created, we also need to notice the judgments we are making back to those who are still living in fear in some churches. Perhaps if we look at the Bible from more of a metaphysical standpoint, a guide for us to follow and BE in our own life. Hebrews 4:12 says “God’s message is a living and active power, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing its way until it penetrates soul and spirit — to the joints only but the marrow — and detecting the inmost thoughts and purposes of the heart. “ (Taken from A New New Testament — a Bible for the 21st century combining traditional and newly discovered texts) WE are the living Word of God, not words on a page. We each individually carry the Spirit of the Living God and continue to speak eternal truths of relationship and being. Gratitude to all three of you for being the living Word of God embodied and shared out to the world through your lives and through this podcast.

Real Welcoming
So, I first listened to this podcast after discovering Brenda Marie Davies on her God is Grey channel.. then I saw Anjelah Johnson aka Bonquiqui was co-interviewing her here, and I was like, that’s what’s up! I wonder what BonQuiQui is up to these days? Is her finger still crooked? And other burning questions. But in seriousness, you guys host wonderfully authentic and open-hearted discussions here at the round table. As a podcast listener, I tend to prefer more structured NPR-type podcasts rather than listening to a meandering conversation by others. But since I’ve started deconstructing my Evangelical background, I have found a few (including this one) that make me feel like home, like I’m around my tribe. Cuz y’all it’s lonely out here in deconstruction land, even with the internet. And what I love about you guys is that your heart is for Jesus and to share God’s love, in spite of the problems with the Church. We’re not throwing the baby out with the bath water here. We’re purposefully sifting through. Manny has the gift of gab (in a good way).. he has a way of making you feel like, if you met him, he would probably like you. And that’s always nice. Anyway, love you guys, keep having these real and raw conversations no matter the backlash, and keep prioritizing God’s love over the law. It’s nice to have a seat at this welcoming table. -Rae from VA

My go-to podcast
I have always been to church thinking I needed community ... even though I don’t fully agree with my church. Now I have a chair at the table and community that I fully agree with that tolerance of others is exactly what Jesus would do in our modern day situations instead of continue to divide. I learn so much from all of you and feel like I know you. I recommend this podcast to so many people. Please never quit doing this podcast.

Real. Period.
If you want some raw, real insight to spirituality, sexuality, relationships, culture, and politics this is the podcast to listen too. Manny, Anj, and Brandon (and Elyse in season 1) give true insight on what it is to be in the Christian industry and culture as they have grown up in it and worked in it. They give reality to the “standards” the church has placed upon it’s members and change the narrative on what it is to be a believer. I feel that the fellowship I have gained with them through their podcast and instagram has helped me in different ways as I analyze my faith and what God put me on this earth for. What is the core of every conversation they have? Honesty and love. Take the time and listen to it. It is amazing and you will be uplifted.

Slippery Slope
This podcast at first will use some interesting topic to reel you in and then the longer you listen, you just kee hearing things that go against the word of God. I'm not saying the American church like they usually like saying, I mean some topics go so much against the word of God that if you've never read the Bible, you'd think their opinion is gospel rooted. 1 hours of podcast, not a single référence to the word of God. A "biblical" Christian will see through this smoke screen.

Great, impactful topics from open people. The world, and especially the church, needs more open and honest talk like this group provides. Thanks guys!

I hope they know that they’re changing so many lives and relationships
I can't even tell you how blessed I am to have found this podcast. I've loved Anjelah ever since her first standup special so I thought 'oh cool, she has a podcast. I bet it's hilarious.' I never expected it to spark an enthusiasm about my faith and relationship with God that I haven't felt in years, if ever. I grew up in church, my dad a deacon and my uncle was the pastor, so i can relate to all 4 of them SO much. They are authentic and raw, opening up about personal experiences/feelings that every Christian has felt/gone through whether they admit it or not. I’m growing personally, spiritually and as a wife. Some episodes I’m like ‘oh daaamn, that’s me, i do that. My poor husband. Ok ok i gotta work on ____.” They are welcoming, nonjudgmental, encouraging and REAL. I am so excited - I feel like I'm that new Christian who tells everyone they meet about Jesus bc I am telling everyone I know about this podcast!! Thank you guys so much!

Thank you
You guys are really doing a good thing. I have learned more about my faith in God listening to this podcast while not being apart of a church, than I ever did when I was in one. I don’t think I would be in touch with God as much (if not at all) if it wasn’t for you guys sharing your love and faith with the world. And as for the people giving the one stars because of the “coursing / profanity” are just looking for something to find wrong with what you guys are really trying to do at the end of the day which is just to bring people closer to Jesus. Please don’t ever stop. ❤️

I’m not hating, just annoyed.
At first I really did enjoy the podcast, but hearing him say the n-word was unsettling and annoying. That isn’t a word that anyone should be using.

Growing just listening
As I’m currently walking through own tribulation after asking my high school sweetheart for a divorce from a 20yr marriage, I can’t imagine getting through this time without listening to y’all. Meditating, yoga, & listening to you guys as made me understand that it’s ok to hurt, to be angry, & to get raw & real about my emotions & find myself again as a 40 y/o woman. It ok to feel this way!! Mostly definitely Manny said it best, “You’re about to break your own ❤️, bc ppl will change when the pain of staying the same is greater then the pain of changing.” This podcasts had made me grow & see things in ways that I didn’t know I could.. so Thank You all !! I LOVE LOVE LOVE that y’all incorporate spiritual religious belief, as I am too a daughter of Christ. However, I know that my relationship with God RN isn’t @ it’s best & I’m ok with that. God will be there when I’m ready to walk & talk with him again. Thank you guys once again for being raw & real in a world full of illusions !! God Bless 🙏🏼

Stretching and Encouraging
This podcast is very hopeful and encouraging while keeping it real at the same time. I’m inspired by their vulnerability in expressing their journey. Their views can venture outside the Christian mainstream which I find stretching and thought-provoking.

Super huge fan
Just started listening and already fan girling! My only complaint is episodes 1-12 don’t seem to be available.... :-( I am eternally grateful for episode 13! I have been struggling in my faith and it totally set me free of some false guilt and teachings that I have been stuck on! Thank you!

Castpod for the soul
Picture this: you’re in grade school sitting cross cross applesauce on that circle carpet. You each get to go around and answer a question and give your best, honest answer. Only at this round table you are adults and the topics and questions are much cooler and uncomfortable. The co-hosts can’t be anymore different which brings a shmorgishborg of perspectives and insights into life’s trials and tribulations. Don’t let that deter you though. They are all homies or lovers, so rest assured, they still have some common interests and ideas. They don’t know this but we are all friends and we sit at that round table together, only I answer from my car on the freeway. They are not allowed to speak on anything that I bring to the table...

Honest, real, raw.... love it!
These show leaves me wanting more and makes me think more deeply. It also makes me feel validated in my Faith because some of the topics and their feelings about those topics are extremely similar to my own. Made me feel like I’m not alone.

Being real, open, honest & vulnerable
Absolutely love all of the pods. Appreciate every one who is on the show being real, genuine, open, honest and vulnerable. It’s rare and you can feel that they’re not performing and putting on a show. Absolutely love and appreciate that.

Positive vibes all the time
This podcast is so amazing. I love how they have real talk about life, love, religion, beliefs. I am Christian but I hate when religion is thrown in my face. This podcast does not do that. They talk about real issues, personal stories and how they overcome obstacles in each of their lives. They admit faults of what they’ve done in the past and how they deal with things. Manwell is so chill and I’m 100000000% with him on the moscato. That is my drink of choice. Anjelah is so funny and honest. I like how she admits how she thinks certain ways that may be “wrong” but it’s how she feels. BoBeese aka Elyse is also a pleasure to listen to. Brandon is also so amazing. I feel like at his young age, he’s so wise. This is a must-listen-to pod.

Love this table
New listener and I’m so loving this podcast! To play devils advocate my heart is going out to those Christians who come for you in the comments. I can hear their fear... The reality is the Christian side of us is looking for examples on how to walk and behave as followers of Jesus. We only have so much access to a pastor, and his walk is put in an unattainable perfect box because his whole life is God, so we are still looking for the realistic acceptable, Jesus approved, gray, nonjudgmental- but still sanctified and holy example of how to be. When viewing your (any public Christian figure) public life we outsiders ask “does his life match how I’m trying to live my life based on what I’ve learned?” Yes or no is the quick easy way to answer. If no... mean comment mania ensues. The human side of us wants that knowledge of good and evil. We want to be able to decide yes or no. What we should be asking is “does what I’ve learned leave room to include this picture of his life in the family of God” yes or no? If the answer is no then I have to stretch and grow my faith, cus Jesus has room for everybody sins and all. That’s a lot more difficult than just telling you to change. It’s so hard for us to accept that Jesus is ok with both of our lives and we’re both approved. I presume that although Jesus hates actual sin, not just the appearance of sin like a skull ring or a satanic bikini (sarcasm) we humans are terrified of being linked to the appearance of sin. We’re afraid of what It means for us. If you secretly are a Satan worshipper and I enjoy all the content you create... I might look up and find myself unknowingly a Satan worshipper myself. Jesus doesn’t risk anything by accepting you and your potential apparent sin. We do. If we get linked up to a wolf in sheep’s clothing, or a act like blind following blind it could be all bad for us... Ramble ramble, wish I was actually a part or the conversation, wish anyone else was actually having these conversations.

Talk about transparency!
I absolutely love, appreciate, and cannot get enough of this podcast. The authenticity, transparency, and honesty shared by all shamelessly is refreshing. So much false pretense is found in the “walk of the believer” and I’m just inspired by the commitment of everyone on this podcast to keep it real and raw. We need more of this in society and especially in the church culture. Too many misconceptions, unsound beliefs, and emotionally based experiences leading people yearning for truth the wrong way. This space is the weekly dose I personally need to not feel like an outcast or like I’m the only one questioning everything I actually subscribe to. Thank you all for that! Much love and prayers for you all. Keep the content coming. I know I have my seat at the table 💜

Good intentions
Hello all. One person once told me that hell is full of people with good intentions. God Bless you all and thank you for such a good podcast!

Just being real.
Anjelah Is a super dope comedian and Manwell has had really great music in the past, but personally I can’t distinguish this podcast from any other secular podcast, maybe that’s what they were shooting for? No holier than thou type of stuff, I just have a hard time distinguishing it, it doesn’t stand out of the crowd in way that genuinely points to Christ in my opinion..

What the church lied to you
Everyone has a level of gifts that God gives us. The struggle of faith is to continue to be a good person in every circumstance. It’s how you use your gift and really it’s Gods tests to manage what’s your own personal journey. Love heals everything. If you don’t believe in Jesus: You can be Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker. It’s what you surround yourself with. Yoda still has the right and most simplistic answers: Fear leads the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, Hate leads to suffering. The greatest teacher, failure is. You must unlearn what you have learned.....
