Meet Yoseph Chandra, a UBC Computer Science alumnus who is currently working at Launchpad Technologies Inc as Solutions Architect. Yoseph moved from Jakarta to Vancouver after he graduated from high school. With a degree in Computer Science from UBC and over 10 years of experience, Yoseph helps his client’s business by improving business processes using technology. Meet Nadia Chaidir, Research Project Manager for Genome Editing and Genomics research efforts at Corteva Agriscience. Nadia is currently working for the biggest standalone agricultural organization in the world. Her role supports the Research and Development strategic initiatives to deliver sustainable solutions through innovation and technology for farmers around the world. Nadia completed her Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology at Purdue University, and her Master of Science in Bioinformatics (Plant Science) at McGill University. Always a passionate learner, in addition to working full-time she is also currently working on completing her Master of Technology Leadership degree at Brown University. Nadia is passionate in contributing to solve the world's food security issues through scientific innovation and harnessing the full potential of the latest cutting-edge technologies. In addition, she is a tri-chair of Corteva’s Asian network that works on accelerating inclusion, diversity and equity in the workplace; and an active member of the Science Ambassador program to engage the next-generation scientists and promote STEM in the local community.

Meet our speaker Adya (Dita) Djoko, a UBC food science alumni who is currently working at Daiya Food Inc, as Director, Food Safety & Quality Assurance. She and her family made the move from Jakarta to Vancouver when she was in Grade 10, during this session she will sharing her journey navigating a foreign city & foreign language through her teenage years, surviving the years of being a broke university student holding 2 jobs at a time, and finally her journey in pursuing a career in the food industry from zero to now.
