A Sitcom without the Cringe
This showis a wild, over the top sitcom. Things are dialed up to 11, and the characters are larger than life. It has the feel of a 90's sitcom but makes a concious effort to be socially aware and avoid harmful language and tropes as much as possible. It's queer, it's millenial, and it's a ton of fun. Some other reviews have noted sound balancing issues with characters being relatively quiet and then getting excited and screaming. I never found myself having to adjust the volume, for what it's worth. I also really liked the sound design and ambient noise levels. The characters getting overexcited and yelling about things felt extremely relatable for me because that's generally the energy level my high school drama program operated at any time we weren't actively rehearsing. The plots and characters are, like any sitcom, especially during a first season, bigger than life. The situations they find themselves in are bold, hilarious, and eminently relatable. The tropes are familiar, but the whole point of a sitcom is that you know the punchline and you're waiting to hear the specifics of just how deep a hole the characters dig themselves, or how far they will go. The whole season plays with the familiarity of relatable situations (finding a new roommate, figuring out how things work in the big city, public transit, etc) by finding a weird angle or an over the top expression of it. My biggest criticism is that during the first episode it was tough to understand who was who. Cam was easy to identify because of the masculine presenting voice, but I had the show notes open to try to keep track of Gillian, Ally, and Ashley. Listening to the teaser episode helped cement Ally's voice, but it was still a little difficult at first to tell Gillian and Ashley apart. That said, it's a good motivating scene to start with (it's the driving factor behind the first season) but it suffers from being in an audio medium where we don't get the additional visual cues to help differentiate the characters. After the first episode, though, you start to recognize everyone's voices and Gillian and Ashley are there less frequently, so it gets easier pretty quickly. Every time I've tried to watch an episode of Friends, I've walked away cringing because of something racist, sexist, ableist, etc. This show feels like it captures all the fun, zany atmosphere of 90's sitcoms without all of that. It's not perfect but it's loads better than anything else in the genre I've encountered. Simply put, it's a fun, inclusive, whacky sitcom that's generally easy to listen to and scratches that itch. Definitely check it out. P.S. The theme song is ridiculously catchy and will stick in your head forever.

Absolutely perfect
This show is so cute. The characters are quirky and fun but relatable in their own extreme ways. It’s a sitcom so it isn’t meant to be super realistic but or still bring that touch of excitement to our world

Nope :-(
I struggled to make it thru a single episode and really wanted to like it. There was so much yelling & overacting that it was nearly unbearable. Perhaps the actors are used to stage plays, but their style did not play well in an audio only format.

Awesome comedy drama
I love this. I love all the characters! I need a season 2! The theme song is awesome.

I began listening to this about maybe a month or so ago and it was exactly what I needed to put a smile on my face during these times. I'm looking forward to seeing more from this series and I might check out the rest the team has created

Cute
It’s a cute show! Definitely a few growing pains, but by the end of the season I really enjoyed the characters. I can also see this becoming an actual sitcom - would do so well! And I’ll never get this theme song out of my head. SO GOOD.

I can’t wait until it is inevitably on Disney plus

A great show, despite growing pains
First of all, the theme song slaps. Full stop. The characters are weird and quirky, but also relatable. There are funny ongoing bits and I truly laughed out loud at least once each episode. My one critique would be the high variance of volume that seems to be played for comedy (it tends to accompany weird voice changes for the characters) which can startle and have you scrambling to turn down the volume, only to have to turn it back up once the dialogue returns to normal. As a fan of Multitude in general, I can see the finger prints of all those involved in a way that truly warms my frosty heart and makes me feel like I know the Multicrew personally. I would love to see this show continue and develop. I think these are solid characters and I found myself looking forward to each new episode. Congrats on season 1! Can’t wait for what is in store!

Disappointing
I love all the other multitude shows, but this is unlistenable. I couldn’t make it through the first episode; too much yelling, and it just goes no where.

Weird/loud voices aren't comedy
I love multitude. Spirits, join the party, potterless and head heart guy are some of my favorite podcasts. But what is this nugget of crap in a pile of gold coins? Ali is insufferable, the jokes try way too hard to appeal to millennials and occasionally a character will just come in talking in a weird or loud voice because... that's funny. Even the regular humor that isn't based on doing a weird voice falls flat. When I heard Brian David Gilbert's voice I weeped with joy, because there was finally a comedically talented person on this terrible, forsaken sitcom that's worse than an NBC comedy that runs 1 season on Thursday night and then gets cancelled (I'm looking at you, Perfect Harmony). -1000000/10

Thoroughly enjoying this
I’m telling you give this a try. It’s very lighthearted and enjoyable to listen to. Hasn’t disappointed me yet and I look forward to every new episode.

!!!
This is the podcast version of throwing on that lighthearted tv show you’ve watched 10 times over, just to relax and have a good laugh at yourself. I’m hooked!

Serious Promise, But Serious Flaws
On one hand, this pod is an intriguing twist on a familiar narrative - a sitcom about 20-somethings in [insert hip city here]. The characters are quirky, but not too weird to diverge off mainstream acceptance. And the writing deals with real issues that millennials can identify with (self-doubt about ability to reach professional goals, guilt for leaving home to follow your dreams, etc.). The show even has a perfect intro/outro theme song and jingle that fits with this type of sitcom. It’s basically a podcast version of Friends, but modernized to fit 2020 and simplified so that there are only a limited number of character storylines to follow for an audio medium. But the show leans in a little too heavily on sitcom troupes. The basic structure is pretty simple: the characters find themselves in a situation, and one character always gives an important speech at a pivotal point which leads the other character to the resolution we all expect. You never really have to wonder whether the character will make it out of the mess we find them in. This is comfortable, but not really unique or interesting. At the end of the day, the only thing really pushing me to listen is that it’s a podcast version of a familiar type of sitcom. I can passively listen without having to challenge myself or pay attention to the finer details. Also, one of the central characters, Ali, is defined by her constant screaming and generally incredulous nature. This was not thought out for an audio medium as I regularly have to adjust the volume controls whenever she’s in a scene because she’s just screaming into my eardrum. This is a nitpick, but rather annoying.

Learn to Love Your Volume Buttons
This was aired as a guest episode on another podcast I listen to. I assumed it was the first episode but was so confused that I came to its feed to be sure. Yes. It was the first episode and I hadn't missed anything. The acting around the proposal was so emotive that I felt like I was meant to feel something but I don't know these people. And the screaming... I had to keep adjusting the volume to not get my eardrums blown out. I can't even imagine if I'd been wearing earbuds. I like the idea. There's obviously a good deal of heart behind this but it just doesn't work for me.

Not my Cup of Tea
The enthusiasm at the beginning of the first episode made me cringe a little. I gave the first episode about 10 more minutes then decided this isn’t for me. Gave three stars because I can’t be giving out one star ratings to things I don’t personally like.

Hey audio sitcom!!
It’s a sitcom! It’s also a podcast!! It’s very good!!! Excellent sound editing! So many exclamation points (in this review not in the podcast)

Great new podcast!
Really enjoying this. Great story telling, actors, sound design and love the theme song! SO well produced!”

Horrible Voices
This one is a good concept, but the screaming voices and over-the-top acting make it impossible to listen to. Calm the f$&@ down!

Like a Michael Schur show but better!!
The dialogue is amazing, the characters seem real, and it is sooooo funny. It has been three episodes and I feel like the characters are already familiar and I care about them.

This Just Ain't Working...
I'm sorry...first of all, the writing is super cringey. They're also playing it TOO safe. Almost like they're worried to offend anyone. This is "Comedy" get gritty and real...unless this show is straight up for kids but they're advertising it as as show for mid 20s, and this just isn't authentic. Also I appreciate that they're trying to do an audio sitcom, but the format of the show just doesn't translate. Too many characters and they're too similar in voices that I found myself confused as to who was talking...eventually with the dull/ flat story line and too many voices in one scene, I just gave up. Don't waste your time people!

Relatably refreshing!
Hoo boy where do I start - this podcast is like the good parts of Friends mixed with experiences people around the world have or will go through. Multitude has honestly done it again, making their top quality podcasts but now in a sitcom. Just give it a quick listen, even just five minutes! No regrets!

Adulting Has Never Been Funnier
At one point in our mid-20s, many of us reach a point where we go from "Ah! Does anybody knows how to become a full fledge adult?" to "Oh, so nobody knows what they're doing? Got it!" Next Stop is a "journey-through-adulting" PodCast that provides relatable content to those who are starting to build a life of routine, but also navigating the adversities that accompany the life of a young adult: friends getting married, searching for the perfect roommate, and making chili with your friends. If you're looking for relatable content that will provide you with some laughs, you will definitely find it here in Next Stop

Multitude Does it Again
This is my first foray into comedy podcast, but I’ve been a long time Join the Party listener. The people of Multitude always put their heart and soul into every production they do, and this is no different. The sound design and music are on point. I can’t wait to see where the story leads!.

Can I give it 6 stars?
I found podcasts through my boyfriend, and Multitudes podcasts through my love for D&D. If you’re not an audiobook person but still love a good story on the go, this is PERFECT. it’s funny, the characters are relatable, and during this quarantine it’s the perfect escape. Highly recommend!

Loving It!
I learned about Multitude from a friend of mine and began listening to Potterless. Then I moved on to Join the Party. Next Stop is just the next step in the Multitude journey of mine! I think that its humor is spot-on, and the sound design is great! I can’t wait to hear more!

Great!
A hilarious, witty, audio drama sitcom? Yes, please!

Couldn’t listen to 5 full minutes
Ridiculous but not funny. Sorry kids. Ya gotta make me laugh or it’s not comedy.
The Wake Up Mama
Fantastic Podcast, Fantastic Sound Design
Oh man. This podcast is so good? Not to sound like Stefan from SNL, but it has EVERYTHING. Heart. Humor. Amazing directing. Killer sound design. It’s so difficult to do that in an engaging way in an audio medium and the directing is just really well done and the sound design is just absolutely -chefs kiss- levels of good. Heart eyes (or ears) for days!!

Just what we need
Audio sitcoms are in short supply, and we all could really use something light & funny right now. This show nails it. Thank you Multitude!!

My Ears Are Bleeding
Wow! That was painful. And, I only got 2 minutes in. All I could hear was an obnoxious woman screaming unfunny dialog at the top of her lungs. Truly horrible writing and acting. Do not waste your time.

Unlistenable
I have heard a lot of great things about Multitudes network and they seem really well respected in podcasting so I was excited to give this show a try but I have found it to be unlistenable. The trailers were bad enough but I thought I would give the actual episodes a try and...yikes. The writing is horrendous and feels like it's trying to be exactly like Friends but lacks even the minimal amount of charm Friends posessed, the acting is questionable at best, horrendous at worst. I listen to a lot of other podcasts and recognize some of the actors and have heard them be mostly good before so I don't know who is giving them direction but they need to do better by these people. Then there is the sound itself. I don't know if the person doing it is just not experienced or what but it oscillates wildly between too loud and too soft with the music often drowning out the actors voices plus the sound effects are random, too loud, and pulled me out of the show very quickly. I saw a lot of hype around this podcast and really wanted it to be good but it's just not in any way. There are a lot of good podcasts out there, I wouldn't waste your time on this one.

Hurts my ears
The characters are over the top, annoying, and not relatable.
Definitely Ian
Most annoying girl ever
The female character is insufferable. Why is she talking like she’s in a broadway musical? The characters are so cliche and annoying. Very disappointing 😕

fun & queer!
want a sitcom that’s funny, casually gay, and uses trains as a metaphor? here it is!!

Amazing!
I’m a big fan of everything Multitude produces. Next Stop has me laughing out loud (Queso Boy is my spirit animal)! Can’t wait to learn more about these quirky characters. And that theme song slaps!

Intriguing, Funny, and Well Produced
I listen to a lot of podcasts. Most of them interviews, world news or topic-centric. Next Stop is none of those; rather it’s scripted fiction done superbly by the wizards at Multitude. I’m only on episode 2, but am already addicted to the storyline and characters. The production quality is really fantastic and a pleasure to listen to. Highly recommend!

The One with the Good Review
It’s rare to find a good serial, sitcom-style podcast, but the team at Multitude really nailed this one! Plus, queso. I mean, queso. Really enjoying this series! Solid writing, good acting and perfect production, as always, from this team.

Just what audio fiction needs!
As a huge fan of audio drama, I’ve been dying for an audio sitcom and Multitude delivers above and beyond my wildest dreams!! This show is funny and heartfelt and has the catchiest theme song I’ve ever heard. The acting and directing is superb and I can’t wait to hear more!

Unoriginal, and worse than the original.
This is a rip-off of Friends, and not as good. Not interested.
