The podcast about disordered eating was phenomenal. Everyone should listen. As a school nurse for 22 years I could see every thing you were discussing. Mandated heights and weights were so anxiety provoking for many of the students. They were done privately unlike when I was in school. It was always a good teaching moment about health and differences in bodies but I knew I never had enough time with the students. My heart aches for the suffering so many people go through.

After listening to this episode (as I faithfully do) and hearing the two women who were the leads speak about the integrity of the film and the new perspective that it offered I am compelled to write about my deep disgust and disappointment in not only this movie, but in you, Katie Couric, for exposing your listeners to this tripe. I have followed and admired your career for a VERY long time and place you in high esteem. Most recently, I have supported your voice in the podcast world and social media, purchased your book, viewed your show in NYC, and most importantly, respected your ability to inform my world view. As a (newly) retired teacher of 66 years of life, I found that not only was I immediately, and with duplicated fervour from the original break in this story, deeply disturbed. What was the need to bring this back into the fore-front of public view? This felt like an extremely prurient invasion of the remaining lives of this family. Stumbled upon this searching for something else, so glad I did. Most podcasts I subscribe to seem to be round table or permanent co-hosts w/ or w/o guests sometimes competing for mic. Katie, imo, is generous sharing interviews & has always demonstrated genuine integrity as a journalist & authentic person. Each interview sounds like she’s hosted w/ her +one for years. Positive vibes, professional, thoughtful, and skipping the angry grievances. Thank you!

This has been sitting in my box for awhile. It was raw, yet warm definitely enlightening.

Katie, I love you as a human being and as a journalist. You get to the humanity of the story and that’s the kind of journalism we need in the US (and indeed the whole, wide world) today. You give us a human storytelling in a country that often turns away from the whole human and the whole story. Thank you dear one. Keep up the good work. You give me hope, and that means everything.

I’ve enjoyed reading Singletary’s financial advice columns over the years, but never knew about the obstacles she faced in her life and career. This was a very moving interview and Katie always asks just the right questions.

They were not connecting. Seemed like she was just trying to get through the questions then ended with “wow you are something “ lololol oh WP

Katie I am a few years younger than you, and I did not read Judy’s books either. I have 3 daughters. Need to ask them if they did. So glad she is getting much deserved recognition & that her book is being made into a movie. I did not catch the name of the documentary, but will search for it. Like you, I was terrified of getting my period after being shown a film in the school auditorium in 5th grade. So silly really, bc I did not start my period till the summer I turned 14, or maybe 15? I was so grateful it was summer. I remember where I was & what I was wearing (cut off jean shorts). Thankfully it began with light spotting. My mother just quietly showed me how to wrap my sanitary napkin in toilet paper & dispose of it in the waste basket. She was an older Mom & in hindsight, as much as I hated the school film, it was probably much needed. I am so opposed to banning books. The only time I interfered at my local library, was when my daughter checked out a picture book on Brazil for a school report. My husband is Brazilian & my daughters are all dual citizens. The book mentioned wife battery. I am not saying this does not happen in Brazil, or anywhere else for that matter, but it was inappropriate subject matter for her very young age. I brought it to the children’s librarian’s attention and asked that it be removed from the shelf. I did not follow up. So grateful to live in this free country. I am a huge fan of my local library. I am in there almost daily some days! Grateful for Judy Blume. I need to read Summer Sisters. And grateful for you Katie! You are woke!!!!!!

Katie’s podcast makes you feel like you’re listening to a friend. I love her manner with her guests. She’s so brilliant yet makes it easy for her guests to open up. I love this podcast!

You should have them on the show...would love to hear you interview past staff and producers that worked for you. Plus, their show is hilarious, smart, satire of life in a small, affluent town in CT.

It’s so annoying when Katie repeatedly says the guests name over and over again. I guess she thinks this is a great way of being an interviewer but it’s cringe to listen to.

Katie, love your show, but why in the world is McDonald’s a sponsor? Doesn’t Stand Up to Cancer care about science and nutrition? I’m very confused.

I think that the interview with Jamie Raskin was among the best so far. I was, however, very disappointed to listen to an ad during this podcast for a nicotine product, especially given KC’s work on preventing and curing cancer. My email about this concern has not been answered. This is not what I expected from a journalist.

Why does Katie Couric identify with the 1/6 insurrectionists?

I love Katie’s podcast, but it is peppered with a significant amount of commercials…too many!

The content is so so good but the ads are really out of place. It can be distracting from the serious and important issues. Everyone needs advertising to support the show but these ones don’t seem appropriate for the show.

Brian and his guests delivered one of the most thoughtful, constructive, and fact-based analysis of today’s political stakes and the state of our civic discourse I’ve heard.

Such a thoughtful, compassionate interview with Amanda Kloots. I followed Nick’s journey with Covid while my friend’s husband was suffering at the exact same time. He sadly passed away and then was distraught to hear about Nick’s passing. It’s hard to understand how otherwise healthy individuals could have died from this disease. Amanda and Katie, you are such wonderful role models…strong and brave! I also became a single mom after my former husband died so I can certainly relate to being the only parent. Looking forward to reading your book, Amanda and to the next interview, Katie.

Katie, I love all your interviews and interesting guests. But I just couldn’t listen to the complete conversation with Lucy Kaylin. Ms. Kaylin begins and ends almost every sentence with “you know “. It’s an extreme tiresome habit, and very difficult for the listeners to stay engaged. Towards the end even you were falling into the same habit ( I think by mirroring her speech). This is not a criticism of your brilliant interviews and fabulous guests. No one can control other people’s habits. Care on, and all the best. Alie

I unfollowed this. Some of the interviews were interesting, but Katie always brings the discussion back to Katie. It’s really hard to listen to someone who tried so hard for decades to appear to be politically neutral, but here she drops all pretense, and shows us her venomous hatred for anyone on the right, and even moderates. Then I read the excerpts from her upcoming book. She is obviously a horrible, self-centered person. Enjoy whatever this podcast brings you Katie. I think you’ve finally burned your last mainstream bridge.

I really enjoy the interviews, however the advertising has gotten very sophomoric and could definitely be handled with more maturity and class.

I used to really enjoy watching Katie Couric on the today show. But no more. She is nothing more than a leftist political hack and radical Trump hater and even advocates for reprogramming of his supporters. She no longer has my respect for her hyper-partisan, hateful drivel.

Everything. Just everything.

The Ibram X Kendi interview was excellent. The best episode I’ve heard on this podcast!

Absolutely loved Katie’s interview with Hillary and discussion of many important issues, but most specifically gender inequality that is rarely discussed or addressed enough. Loved hearing both perspectives and efforts to contextualize from a historical temporal perspective progress and also ways in which massive change is still needed.

Enjoyed Kate Winslet’s interview and the discussion about Mare of Easttown. Except for your completely ignorant comment about Delaware County/Easttown being “Trump”ville . The issues with the community and those like it in the area have been around long before Trump and have nothing to do with any political party. Shame on you for using your platform to once again bring politics into the discussion

Unsubscribed. 04 March 2021: Amber Ruffin: “I think people love to feel superior to black people. It feels good and it feels comforting. I mean, I wouldn’t know, I’m just assuming here...” Are you kidding me? Katie let this go without challenge. This is the sort of hateful talk that is allowed on this podcast with no question. Do not waste your time with this podcast. Original review: Meh. Nothing groundbreaking here. Does not cover any new topics that are not already covered many times over by other podcasts. I guess if this the only podcast (or one of a few) that you listen to you could learn something. The interview about being honest on social media did not actually even answer that question - I thought perhaps they were going to dive into cancel culture. The whole episode was one interview that somehow morphed into a discussion about fundraising for the Australia wildfires. It had nothing to do with honesty on social media. The first iteration of this podcast (called simply Katie Couric, that she hosted with her friend Brian) was much better. At least it had fewer ads and was not trying to pretend it is something it is not.

After listening to Katie interview Kate Winslet, I couldn’t wait to watch the first episode of Mare to see what “Trump people” look like to Katie. Nice. Obviously Katie looks down on these types of people portrayed in the show? I guess no one ever accused Katie of being compassionate or impartial or non-judgmental. Typical. (BYW I’m not a Trump person.)

Still taking about Trump six months after the election. Zzzz. Karen-level view of the world and how it SHOULD be. Lives in a bubble of liberal media types and it shows both in her guests and priorities. Has the gall to say she “took some diversions” in 2020 (mostly to beat up on Republicans and working class rural Americans) but now wants to get back to presumably “softer” subjects now that her guy is in office. Boring, predictable, vanilla.

Great interview with Stanley Tucci- he is such a fascinating actor and I love the new CNN show. We all need more Stanley Tucci !
