Deniz Bulat (she/her) is a multi-hyphenate creative who primarily identifies as an actor but has worked in too many production roles to count on one hand.
She recently closed a one woman show in Turkey (that will likely be returning), the first feature film she worked on just screened at Tribeca Film Festival, and she’s a member of Et Alia Theater Company — a New York City based collective that makes art for the other, by the other and is led by international women.
Deniz talks about her time at NYU Tisch finding collaborators (which is how we met!) and the power of self-producing. I have never seen Deniz wait around for permission from anyone else to get something done— whether it be creating a new work of theater or writing her own short film to put through the festival circuit. And we talk about how networking is actually horizontal, among your peers.
Thank you Deniz for your time and for sharing your stories and tips with us!!
