Ye & Me is a series where Browning and MD use Kanye as jumping off point/lens to expand on our theoretical foundations and to illustrate the variety of tactics the state uses to oppress any opposition. As MD says, "There is no catastrophic act of God without humanity." Kanye attempts to tell us this about Hurricane Katrina, as the National Guard and white vigilantes are murdering black Americans with impunity. Instead, the media and state officials attack his character and question his mental stability. And it is Democrats and Republicans, reactionary and progressive academics alike who demonize Kanye.
