Michael and Jess talk about Needful Things, wrapping up Castle Rock as a story location and the 1990s part of our Stephen King novel project this year.

In this rerun episode from the Dragonfly Ripple podcast, we talked about a whole bunch of Star Wars. First, Carlin and Michael spent a few minutes talking about their philosophies on planning a "curriculum" for their children and their nerd interests. After that, Michael and David discussed some Star Wars animation including both version of Clone Wars as well as Rebels. After a "Jetpack Tiger" about the Lego video games, Carlin and Annaliese talked about her first experience with the complete original Star Wars trilogy.

We put the call out for Star Trek fans to nominate their favorite people, places, and things in 18 categories from all the Star Trek TV shows. The people have answered, so now Michael, Rob, Delaney, Evan, and Pax are discussing and voting on the top nominees. It's time to organize your office pool and make your own predictions as we determine the winners and bestow upon them the prestigious and much coveted After Lunch Awardie.

This Dragonfly Ripple rerun isn't a full episode. The behind-the-scenes details are lost ten years later, but for whatever reason, we must have been running behind getting the fourth episode done. Happily, Carlin and Dashiell came through with this short installment of "Jetpack Tiger".

Evan, Pax, Rob, and Michael chat about who's been a Kyle Chandler fan the longest, reading long books, Ride or Die, and the results of our Summer Movie Wager.

Michael and Jess talk about Stephen King's novella, Secret Window, Secret Garden, the second story in the Four Past Midnight collection. They also talk briefly about the other three novellas in the collection and quite a bit more about the 2004 movie adaptation Secret Window starring Johnny Depp, John Turturro, Maria Bello, Charles S Dutton, and Timothy Hutton.

In this rerun episode of Dragonfly Ripple: Bringing Up the Next Generation of Nerd, Michael and Carlin talked to their kids about Westerns… with a twist (or "twisterns").  Carlin and Annaliese watched the 1993-94 Bruce Campbell series on FOX, The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. while Michael and David delved into the 1960s TV series (and 1990s Will Smith movie) The Wild, Wild West. Both shows are Westerns, but feature sci-fi, spy, and steampunk elements.    And the opening chat between Michael and Carlin sets up Episode 4 by talking about the order in which we present the Star Wars films to our children. Plus, in "Jetpack Tiger," we talk about the Star Wars Clone Wars cartoon.

As Michael, Rob, and Pax travel the slow and gentle road to 2028's Fast Forever, we use the next entry in the series, Fast & Furious Spy Racers, to have a broader discussion about the trend of turning live action movies and TV shows into animated series. We talk about our favorites, then ride for a few episodes specifically with the Spy Racers show, and finish by pitching our own cartoon series based on live action movies.

In this second episode rerunning Carlin Trammel and Michael May's old Dragonfly Ripple podcast that they hosted with their kids, it's the highest of fantasy as Michael and David delve into the animated Hobbit and Lord of the Rings movies while Carlin and Annaliese play some Dungeons & Dragons.
