Have you ever felt like a particular day in your life had a theme? You knew when this day came around it would create a forever memorial upon your heart and mind. My guest Stanico affectionately known as Nico Church had such an experience. The day for Nico was December 20th and year after year he would wake up and by the time he went to bed an event, good or bad had taken place and when Nico looks back it all had purpose.
On this episode of Navigating Life with Coach Lo Podcast, Nico shares with Coach Lo how he overcame the pains of life that fueled passion within him and ultimately revealed Gods purpose for his life in different areas.
Life can be hard and seem unfair at times and when life takes place we have decisions to make. Due to our humanity we don’t always make the best decision but Nico shares how God caused everything to work out for his good because her still had a plan for Nico’s Life.
Please pause and watch or listen to Nico’s story of overcoming!
His name is Stanico Church, affectionately known as Nico. He’s the 3rd of 7 children and grew up on the westside of St.Louis.
His father was incarcerated when he was only 13 years of age. The struggles that became a part of his life in the absence of his father caused childhood wounds that he would carry into his adult years causing other challenges.
Nico became a father at the young age of 17. Being so young and inexperienced he battled through the child support system, compounded with the challenges that came from the mother of his son who would intentionally do what she could to keep his son away from him. He became a father a second time while in college and experienced some of the same challenges.
Nico carried some very challenging realities while attempting to create a brighter future for himself and his children. In the process of it all he struggled with depression and anxiety from the weight of life. But Nico persevered through it all becoming a 1st generation graduate to graduate from college.
Nico was determined to succeed starting a job in Corporate America three weeks post graduation, lasting 16 years.
Nico developed a love for photography out of his desire to capture every moment he could to share with his children and his father. Out of this love for photography he left Corporate America and has built a great photography studio called “Nico Church Photography Studio.” This is the space he believe God spoke to him saying that this was work of photography was a part of his destiny. Nico believes “the world needs positive images of love, family and togetherness.”
Nico’s goal is to inspire others to follow their dreams and never allow adversity to stop them!

Reggie’s family passed this wisdom on to him but the the influence of his community was most attractive and influenced his life the most.
Reggie made some unwise decisions along his journey that caused him to land in prison on three different occasions with felony charges which could have changed his life forever but they didn’t. Reggie never made excuses about being a felon, instead he decided to rebuild his life by using the knowledge he had acquired while in school, in prison and his street knowledge to launch several great businesses as an entrepreneur.
Today Reggie wants to use his story to help the youth in urban communities understand that the fast life will cost you greatly! However, for some this option seems to be all that’s available. Reggie wants others to know that it’s not the only way and should you choose the fast way, you can change your future by changing your mind and changing what you do.

On this episode of Navigating Life with Coach Lo Podcast, Raymond Smith aka. Bro.Ray will share with Coach Lo how his life experiences made clear to him what real influence would cost him. As humans we have the idea that we want certain material things, positions and titles without counting the cost. However, when you were created to influence like Raymond you don’t always have the desire, it’s just the journey life takes you on. On this journey you evolve into this person that everyone else desires to become, having no idea the pain and the price it would cost to possess the power of influence.
I invite you to sit back, relax and listen in as Brother Ray shares his journey with us and how he uses his life experiences to help the youth, families and all those he come in contact with to discover the greatness within them and develop it for positive influence and encouragement to others.
Bro. Ray as he is known to all, is a native of Chicago, Illinois he has been a resident of Providence, Rhode Island for 16 years.
Bro. Ray is known to many as the “Hood Preacher. “ While Bro. Ray heard the call to ministry, he ran fast toward the call, (the assignment) with half the instructions to the Davey Lopes Recreation Center, in Providence. There he met the director Mr. George Lindsey, the man in a dream that God said would say yes to every request he had to bringing the Gospel to the City of Providence. Brother Ray is actively involved in the mission that God assigned him to, to bring harmonious unity to the Community. Philippians 4:9 is the word he stood on and it became life to him. As he still stands on this very Word.
Bro. Ray is married to Chuckie Marie, has 5 adult children(2 from marriage and 3 from previous relationships) and 16 grandchildren.
Bro. Ray has served in ministry since June of 2001. In 2003 he began to experience the birth pains of “Young Leaders Fellowship”, (YLF) which began to trinkle over into the Providence Street worker Program where Bro. Ray served as their first Program Director in 2005. In February 2006 he resigned and launched the YLF program as Founder/CEO.
Bro. Ray is known throughout Providence as an advocate in the streets, courts, RITS, ACI, PPSD and in community churches. He is known to many as a positive male role model with abilities to mentor both male and female, children and adults.
The mission of YLF is the Restoration of families through positive interaction with our youth. Assisting them with the building of positive support teams and coaching them on how to utilize them. In his own words he states “I’m God’s anointed, appointed son of encouragement”. He could be found at any given time at the table of some of the city’s most influential decision makers.
In January 2009, Challenge for Change Ministries (CFC) was birth, whose focus is on the family unit.
Remembering the call ...and He said unto him or her, go into all the world and preach and publish openly the Good News (the Gospel) to every creature of the whole human race.
