Kevin and Guy were joined by Dr. Andrew Christ, a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Vermont who has conducted considerable field research in Antarctica. We discussed Dr. Christ’s research on the cryosphere, including his work related to Antarctica and Greenland.

Kevin and Guy were joined by Dr. Jamey Hecht, Doctor of Philosophy and Doctor of Psychology. We discussed Hecht’s personal path leading to his ongoing efforts, which are focused on mental health.

Kevin and Guy were again joined by Jim Massa, a science educator with broad experience in teaching students of various ages. We discussed Massa’s ongoing efforts to teach the masses about climate change, oceanography, paleontology, and other matters of environmental importance. Kevin, Guy, and Pauline Schneider were joined by long-time educator Mimi Riley, Sociology Instructor at Butte College in Chico, California. Mimi was among the first faculty members to embrace Guy’s evidence-rich conclusion regarding near-term human extinction. We discussed the purpose and strategies of contemporary educators.

Kevin and Guy were joined by Stanford University’s Bing Professor of Population Studies, Dr. Paul Ehrlich. Renowned for his work as a conservation biologist, Dr. Ehrlich brought his wisdom to bear on his latest peer-reviewed paper, “Underestimating the Challenges of Avoiding a Ghastly Future,” which was published 13 January 2021 in Frontiers in Conservation Science.

After a 15-minute, pre-recorded segment with Dr. Ye Tao of Harvard’s Rowland Institute, Guy McPherson and guest host Pauline Schneider were joined by Ken Avidor, renowned graphic artist. We discussed Avidor’s ongoing work as a social critic.

Regular cohosts Kevin Hester and Guy McPherson were joined by the voice of Pauline Schneider as she read replies to questions from climate-change expert Sam Carana. We discussed Carana's recent and ongoing work as a voice of synthesis on the topic of abrupt, irreversible climate change.
