Show notes
As children, we are easily convinced by the narratives shared by our parents and teachers, but what if they never shared the full story? After all, every curriculum is a product of design. In this episode, Natalie Selover and Madeline Ward explore the sordid history of native boarding schools in the United States and the role this kind of education played in the destruction of indigenous communities and culture. Join them as they explore the answers to the questions they were never taught to ask.

Season one of Naïveté involves the exploration of a class of settler students at the University of Notre Dame, situated on the traditional lands of the Pokagon Band of the Potowatomi, into the modern life and experience of Native Americans (not to mention all of the histories they were never taught). This series helps them overcome some of their naïveté about indigenous communities. They invite you to join them in their education.
