This 80-minute black and white film is a pretty bad adaptation, but this Mexican Gothic film has a Universal meets Hammer vibe that we adore. Throughout Mexico and Central America, children grow up fearing La Llorona. Also known as the Weeping Woman, this menacing figure is said to lurk near various bodies of water, crying for her missing sons. Some believe she intentionally drowned her children while others claim their deaths were caused by the negligence of a shameless seductress. But where did this frightening legend begin and does La Llorona still haunt the modern world?
