Memories of the past
Murder, etc. is so good! I remember the old Greenville and wow this tells it so well. I’ve binged the first 18 episodes over the weekend. I can’t wait to listen to more.

Great podcasts
I first listened to this in 2022. I continue to be fascinated by these stories and listen to them off and on at random I am hoping you will continue with more podcasts about the area. I'm sure there are many more stories to tell .

Evil Exposed!
I was young at the time, and don’t remember anyone speaking about this, then or even now. I moved away shortly after this. This has been very eye opening and shocking. Thanks for your bravery and hard work to expose evil. Truth always has a way of coming out.

Great Podcast!
I was at The College of Charleston when this happened and don’t remember my parents, in Spartanburg, telling me about the crime. But this podcast brings the old Greenville back to life. I’m binging because it’s a fascinating, yet horrific, true crime story. And very well told!

Murder, etc Podcast
I’m an avid podcast listener and this is the best one I’ve ever heard.
The journalist in Brad Willis really shows with the detailed information, photos, graphs, police reports, newspaper clippings and more that accompany each episode.
I’d rate this podcast a 10 star if I could!!

My cousin live in Greenville and shared this with me a few years back. A masterpiece is putting it lightly. So heartbreaking in many ways. I hope Brad has some updates soon.

Need to check out
I am loving this series. I hope the person that did this podcast will check out the podcast “In the red clay” there is a lot of connections to the Dixie mafia that started in Winder, GA. I think it would be awesome to collaborate these events to see if there are any connections

Truth
As a Greenville native and graduate of Greenville High School like Frank, I am happy to see someone has looked into these murders! As a teenager in 1975 I remember my parents talking about this and I believe my Dad, Albert Boone, knew Frank when he was a Greenville City Police Officer. This podcast is done very well and tells the history of Greenville in those years! Great job!! My dad had a roommate by the name of what I thought was Bud Skeleton!! I know think this was Bub Skelton!! They were Greenville City Police Officers together!! I would like to speak to you Brad if possible!!

Great podcast
I have lived here my entire life, have heard about these crimes, but never to this extent. Brad has done a great job, great storytelling, well researched, I know a lot of the people involved, am a member of Providence Baptist, which was College Park. Sheds light on things I’ve wondered about.

Too Long
I've enjoyed as much as I could, it's just to many episodes

Amazing story! Worth a listen!
Brad is an awesome story teller! I could picture the events as he told the story. I don’t know Mr. Wakefield. But, after listening to him I know we are brothers in Christ.

Best podcast I have ever listened to
I have just recently found this podcast and I can not stop listening to it. I am kind of sad that I found it so late and missed the live events and other things throughout the podcast but I am very happy that I don’t have to wait any time for the next episode.

Wow!
Very riveting! This podcast digs up what many in Greenville wish would have stayed buried. The investigative work is thorough and clearly laid out with great support from a website.

Awesome
I’m from Greenville, remember Brad on WYFF. Greenville has several interesting murders.

An Important Story—Exceptionally Told
This podcast is well researched, compellingly presented, and carefully organized to make sure we connect all of the pieces. This is a story of murder, corruption, racism, and hope. The best part? The investigation undertaken by the creator of the podcast is still ongoing...join in now, and you can be part of it. I can’t recommend this podcast strongly enough!

Producers have done their leg work however the story telling is too drawn out for me. You’ll hear the same sound bites numerous times and with all the similes, metaphors, and regional-isms they work in, it’s closer to poetry than it is to reporting. Maybe this is your thing. I’d just prefer they get to it.

The Rest of the Story
Absolutely great and addictive true crime podcast. Some people thought the story ended with a death row sentence in 1976, but it didn’t and in the immortal words of the late, great Paul Harvey, “now you know the rest of the story”.

Very interesting
Brad is a great storyteller. Every episode leaves you hanging for the next.

Greenville Area Native Here!
I’m only a few podcasts in and I’m incredibly impressed by the work Brad put into this, it’s greatly appreciated. My father grew up in Greenville and he remembers the 1970’s(surprisingly! 😜). During the 2000’s he would tell me to be very careful when I would go to Downtown Greenville and especially on the ‘West End’. After a few podcasts, I can understand his concerns about downtown. He’s now realized that it’s not the 1970’s anymore. Thank Goodness. Thank you so much for sharing your hard work, I look forward to listening to them all.

Binge Worthy!!!
As a 6th generation resident of Greenville County, I am completely infatuated with every detail of this podcast. Have spent the whole weekend catching up. Thanks to Brad for trying to help right our wrongs and let us all remember Greenville wasn’t always what Greenville is. We’ve come a long way.

Addicting
Such a fascinating story that continues to develop! I can’t stop listening. In Charles Wakefield Jr.’s words, it’s “a story of how a young black man in Greenville, SC was convicted of a crime without any evidence.” Drugs, murder, crime, police corruption, and racism—it’s all there.

Injustice of the Worst Kind.
Absolutely the best podcast series of any I’ve listened to.
It’s said, from John Grisham’s new book, The Guardians, “the worst injustice is serving someone else’s time”. Charles Wakefield served some one else’s time. A cruel injustice of the worst kind. Someone killed the Loopers and it wasn’t Charles. From the prosecutor to the sheriff and his men, it is the conspiracy that continues to haunt Greenville and its racist past. Time for Charles to be exonerated and the real characters who perpetrated this evil crime, to be identified.

Brad is on a mission along with a number of people who believe Charles Wakefield is innocent. Very gripping story! Should be started from the beginning. We don’t have an ending yet but am confident we will in the end! God Bless the true God Fearing participants! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Gripping story, too much filler
This is a very interesting and complicated story. I expected it to be similar to Season 1 of “Serial” and it is as far as genre. The author/reporter/narrator does a good job of making so much background and research understandable. I do wish, however, that it was more tightly produced, omitting so many, “but you’ll learn about that later” isms. Have accepted that each episode’s repetition makes it possible to listen to stand-alone episodes or to return to listening after an absence but it feels as if each episode has only about 15 minutes of story progression. And, yes, I am still listening.

Great podcast!
Definitely worth a listen. You’ll most likely binge listen to the episodes like myself and everyone I’ve suggested it to has. The recent news is almost too unbelievable. Makes you wonder even about today’s Greenville law enforcement. Seriously how do you lose the folder?!??!?
DevoGuido
Very well researched
Just started listening a week ago and have binged all the episodes. As I’ve recently moved here it’s good to know the history of the city and county, both good and bad. Looking forward to the next episodes

Murder, Etc.
This podcast is fabulous! The in depth investigation is amazing. I cannot imagine the countless hours that have gone into producing this podcast. If you love history, you will love this. Thank you, Brad Willis!

The Players
I find it interesting that so many of the “Players” are people with whom I have interacted over the years.
I remember well the day when the Loopers were murdered, and though I knew neither of them, remember well the feelings of both anger and sadness that such a tragedy always brings. Having been an member of the Peace Officers Association, and later a mayor, and judge, I wanted a swift capture and prosecution of the guilty parties. These feelings were not uncommon for those of us who identified strongly with law enforcement.
However this turns out, I hope “true justice” is determined, and Brad Willis is convinced that “truth” has at last prevailed.

Everyone should hear this
I binge listened to all content through episode 23 which is what is available to date. This is my first ever podcast and I am totally hooked. Excellent production with quality content. Can’t wait for more

This is a must listen!
I grew and still live in the area and started listening to see if a couple names I expected would show up in the story. A few days later and I had binge listened to all available content.

Totally hooked!
I started half heartedly listening to the first episode, but now I’m totally hooked. Willis’s insights and storytelling are well-paced, detailed and just plain interesting.
Recommending it to lots of friends.

What a great podcast!
Like a lot of other listeners, I have biased to this podcast because I am from Greenville. That being said..... I am a huge crime junkie and love my crime podcast. I am so so glad that I found this podcast. I actually found it because someone on my Facebook shared the post by Murder Etc Podcast’s page of the media release the Greenville City Police department issued not too long ago. Keep up the good work!

Addictive and fascinating
My very first entry into the world of podcasts, and, wow, my first taste was like a fine 10-course meal! Exhaustive research and beautiful narration by Brad Willis, whom I have known and respected for years.
Currently binging on all episodes, and because I can’t wait till I get home from work, I sit in my car during lunch each day just to catch another episode. Can’t get enough of it.

Captivating
I’ve lived in the upstate of South Carolina my whole life. I’m new to the podcast world but hearing Brad tell stories of familiar names and places is extremely captivating. I have laughed, I have cried and I am completely hooked on this story! Can’t wait to hear more!

Amazing podcast
This podcast is a must listen for anyone that lives in or is from the Greenville area. With Greenville’s shiny new image as a top rated city, it’s sordid past has been pushed far into a corner and forgotten about. Brad does an amazing job of painting a picture of 70’s Greenville and the violence and corruption that was so prevalent. The amount of research he did is staggering, and I don’t think anyone else could guide you through the events and backstories of the people involved like Brad does. I don’t know if Brad Willis will ever receive the accolades he deserves for this, but he may just solve one of Greenville’s most notorious murders.

Podcast Doing Doubles as an Innocence Project
Podcast is well researched and narrated wonderfully. The best part is that this work may result in the exoneration of an innocent man currently on parole for a double murder conviction. I am addicted to this show.

So good
This podcast is exhaustively researched and shares not just a crime, but a culture. I think it’s fair to say it elevates the discourse of true crime.

Wow.
I live in Greenville, South Carolina. My father is a police officer, who actually introduced me to this podcast. It’s insane hearing my hometown referred to like this, but this podcast is absolutely amazing.
