I was on TikTok and came across a case that had my interest and I wanted to hear a podcast about it. I searched it up on iTunes podcast and saw that you had covered it. It took about 11 1/2 minutes for you to finally get to the story. There’s a few podcasts out there that tell the story with a few opinions, but this episode particular just rambled. However, you both have great voices of podcasting.

I absolutely love the podcasts about my family! My father wrote a book and was also on the EVIL KIN on the ID network- speaking about the Harpe Brothers and how they are kin. I’d love to join your podcast and speak on my distant relatives and share what I know about the brother from the research my father put his entire life into!!!

11 minutes in and they’ve just been LAUGHING the entire time. Like straight up cackling. Gross.

Sorry, there are just some things that are not funny. I can’t imagine being a family member in any of these cases they cover for “entertainment” or “comedy” but there is just absolutely nothing at all you should be joking about with the violent rape and murder of a 12 year old.

Just insensitive, too many jokes and laughing every 3 sentences. You can’t even follow along the story.

I BARELY made it through an episode of this podcast, and that’s saying a lot because I was listening to a story about my own distant relative. The main story teller Brianna was fine. It was Courtney’s voice and comments that were terrible, to the point of flinching at her voice because she is literally screaming half the time. Her tangents stain the podcast with arrogance and a lack of sensitivity to those suffering and overall was unnecessary to the episode. They both flip flop back and forth between feeling bad for mentally disabled veterans who did not have support, hating them saying they belong in high security prison, and comparing them to normal people, a lot of times referencing themselves. 2x in the episode they asked one another, “How many times have you been investigated for a crime?” As they cackle together like they would have a similar relationship with the police as a transient mentally-disabled hobo in the 1970s. Or “why would he admit he saw the kid the day he went missing?” After spending ten minutes talking about how the guy had a low IQ and major brain damage. Overall disappointed by this podcast which could’ve been done very well with a bit less scream-shouting and skipping the tangent making fun of the mother’s letter about her dead child. looking at the other reviews I see I’m not alone in my thoughts. Please do better with your consideration of victims, the mentally disabled, and poor people in future episodes.

This podcast was absolutely awesome. Only listen if you have a sense of humor and like comedic relief with your true crime. I listen to the episodes with Kelly at least once a year but I totally miss Brianna regardless of her cohost. Come back to meeee!!!

When people criticize the true crime Community this is what they’re talking about. Hearing you laugh and joke while talking about victims was sooooo off putting

As someone who is a surviving victim of a case they covered I find this pod cast extremely insensitive. That is great that your twisted mind finds murders interesting by you should respect the victims by not making jokes when describing the traumatic events. More importantly I highly recommend not making fun of the victims

Let me preface this by saying I love this podcast no matter what, and support on patreon. However, I do miss Kelly, and miss the dynamic between Briana and Kelly. BUT Courtney is cool too.

Love the friendship between the hosts and the level of banter is perfect. Would love to send a case suggestion, but can’t find an email address and I don’t use social media.

Wow!! I live in Florida but I don’t recall hearing about murders. I did hear about a 30 yr old dude that went to one of those “COVID parties”, got it, and his last words to the nurse was that he regretted going to the party. It blows my mind that people try to take advantage of the pandemic to, albeit on here, unsuccessfully cover up their crimes. Oh well, still makes for a good listen when I want to escape the realities of today’s world.

I was interested in hearing about the Manuela Ruda case, and wanted more information. What I got was two people trying desperately to be funny, landing just shy of distasteful and landing on annoying HARD. The story audio was really choppy, does she tell the story then edit in the inane banter later? It sounded like a 7th grader giving a lackluster report with no vocal inflection, or even feigned interest in the story. Maybe listen to Dark Poutine or Scared to Death and study what podcast banter and editing should sound like.

The first season with Kelly as the co-host was fun, funny and interesting. The change to Courtney happened when Kelly was no longer available to record. Courtney’s way of speaking comes off so aggressive and pushy sometimes. I don’t know how to explain it, but I’m finally done. Brianna has definitely put in the work and does a great job with this podcast. I just cannot hear Courtney go off anymore. #kellycomeback

I listen to crime pod casts 8 hours a day while I work. There are some really good ones out there and I have enjoyed them but I actually accidentally found yours and I adore it! I almost spit out my drink 3 times during the Lazarus one talking about her!!! It’s also so informative and you tell such a great story!!

Thank god yall rock like you do. You’re funny and informative with just enough sympathy. I can’t handle the faux gravitas of some of the pods or the oh so perfect politically correctness of others. You seem to have a good balance of everything. Nothing seems too off limits when it comes to humor, thankfully. True crime, even as a hobby, can make a girl (ahem, me) have a more dark sense of humor-so I appreciate a good off color jab and verbal rope-a-dope. Keep it up!

Unsubscribed. Listening since the start but have finally had enough of the feminine biased story telling. Often shields or minimizes negative female traits by deflecting and stating it “signs of our time”...couldn’t POSSIBLY be this person is a horrible person. Those who describe someone (they know and you don’t) as “horrible” but the hosts deflect and say they can’t stand how women are made to be the bad guy. Sorry this has gotten disgusting. Listened for years and have allowed the hosts to assault my ears and intelligence for the last time.

This is the worst podcast I’ve ever heard for so many reasons. They laugh at things that are not funny, glorify drugs and satanism. Just bad

I really enjoy this podcast! I love the hosts, both before and after Courtney joined! The show is researched very well and I like the commentary that the hosts weave into the cases. Please keep up the great work :)

I was recommended this podcast on a particular story (Hitmen specifically). After listening, I couldn’t stop. I’m fascinated with true crime. The hosts are so informative and thorough with their research, not to mention hilarious. Catching up to the most current episodes and I can’t wait to learn more.

The best thing about this podcast is the sidebar conversations. It feels like listening to my friends talk. I can’t stop listening to these episodes. I don’t know what I’m going to do when I’m caught up.

Love these two ! It’s as if me and my friends were to talk about murder, it cracks me up sometimes. They don’t get enough credit, more people should listen to this. It’s awesome they choose topics that most don’t talk about or over looked. Very creative with their topics.

I never leave reviews but I have to give some constructive criticism because I think the show has a lot of potential. I think there are some really interesting cases told (and surprisingly a lot I haven’t heard) I think the main host is great, her voice is pretty pleasant to listen to... however, (and I feel bad being so blunt) the side host drives me absolutely insane. Her tangents make absolutely no sense and when they do, they seem to be kind of rude in one way or another. (The most recent episode I listened to, she made a comment about a kid having problems and not worth making fun of) ummm who says that?!? It almost seems that she likes to hear herself talk but really has no useful input. Her cut ins take up so much time and make it frustrating to listen to. She also says “right” way too much. This podcast would be perfect with just the one host. Sorry to be brutal but I’m just being honest.

I found this podcast while listening to Court Junkie podcast. I binged all the episodes until I was caught up while at work lol. It’s hard that they aren’t able to do episodes consistently right now but, it’s understandable and just makes me so happy when a new one does come out! This is my favorite true crime podcast.

If you listen to the podcast, they tell you that the hosts have medical issues and cannot necessarily post consistently. They do their best!

They never post anymore, it wasn’t a bad podcast but they’ll go weeks without posting a new story, there are a ton of other true crime podcasts that stay consistent so I do t think I’ll be listening to them anymore

Too much goofing off. There’s more goofing off than story.

Just listened to the Kray twins podcast. It could have been a great podcast but the use of the F word and sexual innuendo kinda over shadows the information given on the subject of the Krays.

The stories are interesting and they keep it moving well enough but some of the stuff that comes out of these ladies mouths is really surprisingly myopic. They make weird assumptions about how the world works or why people do what they do. I guess what I'm saying is, it's worth listening to but don't expect much insight from the hosts.

Love these ladies. I like how open they are. I hope Kelly comes back, Courtney interrupts Brianna a lot. I hope they do a q and a episode!

My husband and I really enjoy listening to this genre of podcasts. We were looking for one on Stephanie Lazarus. Unfortunately, theirs is one of only a few that have a podcast about her. About a minute and a half in to the back and forth bantering, one of the ladies said they don’t like to talk about themselves. Right. Fast forward ten and a half minutes and they are finally done talking about themselves and starting the case. Even then, they just kept going off on tangents. Really not worth the listen. They also said if you don’t like their podcast, just move on, and DON’T leave a bad review. It’s not a good podcast, don’t waste your time.

I really enjoy the dynamic with Courtney. Much more mellow and digestible. Keep up the good work!

The thing that I love the most about this podcast is it’s humanity. Brianna and Courtney really try to understand what events led to the crimes and the reasons behind them, not just robotically recite the gruesome details. And they empathize with the victims and the victims’ families, something that gets lost in a lot of other podcasts. Love you guys! So happy that the podcast is doing well! I really look forward to every episode!

Please edit Courtney or do a read through before recording because Courtney’s disjointed thought ramblings sound uncomfortable for Brianna and are uncomfortable for the listener. I love this podcast and always have. It was great with kelly and it’s great with Courtney but I know Courtney can get a grip on her disjointed replies and interjections. I’m going to guess she’s just not aware so maybe listening to the podcasts she’s done will help her. Please don’t take offense and complain on the show, just work on the problem. If it’s a disability that’s the issue I apologize.

Every time Brianna says “it breaks my heart” or blames “institutional racism” as a contributing factor to a criminal’s actions, take a shot. You’ll be so wasted by the end of the show, you will think you had a great time listening.

The focus on mental health and the role it plays in the crimes is huge to me. I love listening and literally can not stop. I laugh, I’m intrigued, I’m fckn hooked. Love the uncensored nature. A whole vibe tbh

I tried listening to My Favortie Murder and just couldn't get into it as I like actual research in my true crime podcast. Then Google Podcasts offered me this one instead and I love it. They break down their research in a fun and enjoyable way that is easy to understand and they do cases that are new and interesting to me. I look forward to every episode and rec this to everyone I know.

I have enjoyed and loved this show for a long time and understand that the commercials are new and necessary. I think, as a listener, it would help to have a little warning, like a jingle or stating something like, “Now let’s take a moment for a word from our sponsors.”, before a commercial cuts off the story mid sentence. It’s great that MD is getting more money and I’m happy that more companies are seeing what these ladies are doing and backing them.
