Jesus trained The Twelve (the Apostles) for about a year before He sent them out two by two to share His message. His instructions to them before they leave seem strange: take no extra clothes, money or food. How will they survive? The ministry has now shifted for The Twelve to total faith and trust. We know that Jesus “came to His own, and His own received Him not.” Not only was that true of His town of Nazareth, but also the nation of Israel. We can begin to doubt the power of Jesus when He allows things into our lives that do not make sense.
