Director Stephen Sommers combined adventure, man-eating scarabs and a cast packed with iconic character actors in a film fondly remembered by many. But how does it hold up as we reopen the long-closed story of The Mummy? No harm ever came from reading a book, right?

Before beginning Mummy March, and our look at the classic Brendan Frasier trilogy of the 00's, it is only fitting we do some filmic archaeology of our own and look back on the classic Universal original: "The Mummy".
